Dazzling City Views
Guaranteed to take your breath away
Few things compare to the nighttime light shows put on by Mother Nature, but a few city skylines do come close. Whether you’re viewing the Las Vegas Strip from a helicopter or sailing past Seattle, these city views will almost make you forget about stargazing altogether. (Almost.)
1. Las Vegas, Nevada
With its scattering of high-rise hotels and flashy casinos, not to mention easily identifiable landmarks like the Eiffel Tower replica, the Las Vegas skyline is one of the brightest in the country. Get a bird’s eye view atop one of the many observation decks in town, but we recommend getting just a little bit higher if you can.
For the best view: Consider a nighttime helicopter tour that shows every angle of the famous Strip.

2. Los Angeles, California
If you’re in Los Angeles but want an experience a little more than just the beach, consider doing your sightseeing after the sun goes down. The city takes on a mysterious, almost romantic air at night, with tons of great viewing opportunities around town.
For the best view: While many popular viewing spots are closed right now, you can’t go wrong with a nighttime jaunt down Mulholland Drive, pausing on one of the road’s viewing overlooks.

3. New York City, New York
The city that launched a thousand movie scenes and film lyrics, New York City's skyline defies any comparison. You can appreciate the city's vastness from pretty much anywhere, including classic spots like the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock.
For the best view: Go even taller at the Edge at Hudson Yards. At 100 stories up, it's the highest sky deck in the entire Western Hemisphere.

4. Miami, Florida
With more than 300 skyscrapers, Miami is a glittering metropolis set against the Atlantic Ocean. Go down Ocean Drive for the best taste of the city’s Art Deco architecture, or book a yacht cruise to take in the entire skyline.
For the best view: For something truly unique, take a seaplane tour over Miami. The 30-minute trip will show you the high-rise condos, hotels, and huge mansions that make the city so desirable.

5. Seattle, Washington
Set to the backdrop of Mount Rainier and the Puget Sound, Seattle has one of the most naturally beautiful skylines in the country. The towering Space Needle looming on the horizon certainly doesn’t hurt either.
For the best view: For a unique perspective, consider a dinner cruise on Lake Washington or Lake Union.
