Pros * Beautiful property in a fantastic location. * The hotel manager handled our complaint professionally, apologized personally, and genuinely tried to improve our experience. * The small café by the pool had outstanding, friendly, and efficient service. * The second dinner at Flor de Sal was much better, and the food was good. Cons * Paid for two Full Ocean View rooms, but one was clearly only a partial ocean view. Reception’s response was simply, “It is what it is.” * First dinner at Flor de Sal took over 2 hours before we received our meals. * Air conditioning barely cooled the room. * Mini fridge did not keep items cold (including medication). * Ceiling fan didn’t work. * Shower alternated between hot and cold every 30 seconds. * Clogged shower drain was reported but never repaired. * Only one complimentary bottle of water for the entire stay, despite guests being advised not to drink the tap water and temperatures around 36°C (97°F). * Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable. * Hotel corridors had a noticeable musty odor. * Bar service was consistently slow and forgetful. * Many hotel facilities closed surprisingly early. Overall, this hotel has tremendous potential, but for the price paid, the service, maintenance, and attention to detail fell well below expectations.
