Absolutely fantastic stay at Vila Nepos! We stayed in the Venetian Room and couldn’t have been happier. The location is incredible—you are literally inside Diocletian’s Palace, right next to the bell tower and adjacent to the church square. From our window, we could watch Roman soldier reenactments marching through the streets while live musicians played in the square below. It was an amazing and unforgettable way to experience the history and atmosphere of Split. The room itself was huge, beautifully furnished, and full of historic character. We loved being able to see and hear the activity of the square when we wanted to, but when we closed the windows, the room became remarkably peaceful and quiet. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during the extreme heat of our visit. We could spend the day exploring Split, walk back to the apartment in just a couple of minutes, and cool down immediately. The Wi-Fi was also reliable and worked well throughout our stay. Our host was exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and helpful throughout our stay. We also purchased the breakfast option, which gave us the opportunity to try several different places. Instead of breakfast being served on-site, we received vouchers that could be used at several nearby locations. We chose three different places during our stay, and all three were excellent. Two offered fixed breakfast menus, while Central Cafe offered both a buffet and an à la carte menu, so you could choose from either—or both.

Above and beyond. Pool and Adriatic sea steps away. 12/10 experience. Little walk to downtown Split but worth the calm and quiet.

Our rooms were very closely located to the old town - nice and walkable. Also there's a car park across the road from the reception, very handy if you're in a hire car. Our rooms (we had 2) were very nicely fitted out, and had a coffee machine - very welcome! There are many rooms in different converted (houses?) along a few streets all very close together. Breakfast is a bit of a walk in the morning, I guess depending on where your rooms are located. Ours were near the reception building, and about 5 mins walk around a couple of streets to breakfast. Breakfast itself is a disappointment. There's a small-ish room with all the food laid out in one area with little space to move when other guests are also trying to get to the food/the toaster/the plates & bowls. There's a fairly meagre selection of cereal, scrambled egg, ham, and bread. Coffee is a nespresso machine that the staff just keep on running. The same room has tables for the guests to eat at, again with not a lot of space. There's a bit of fruit, but it goes quickly - I think the staff are supposed to restock it?

I had an amazing one-night stay in Split! The location was perfect—close to everything, which made exploring the city so easy. The room had everything you could possibly need and even more than I expected. What really made this stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful—some of the nicest people I met during my entire trip to Croatia. We arrived from Makarska, and someone even came to meet us and help carry our luggage to the hotel, which was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was very delicious! A special thank you to Ivan and Toni, who were extremely helpful throughout our whole stay. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Split.
