Great stay. Recommend to anyone. Staff didn't do anything wrong perse I just like a welcoming or friendly smile. Mildly lacking in that depth.

Stonefield Castle is a magical place. We had a room with a view of the Loch which was spectacular. The restaurant where breakfast is served has views over the Loch, the gardens, and the woods. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The gardens and the shore are so beautiful.

Great staff from check-in to the in-house bar to housekeeping. All were very professional and helpful. Breakfast was standard British breakfast. Bar and restaurant were very good. Which is nice since the hotel is a ways from other places.

We stayed at Pine Lake Resort as a couple and specifically chose and paid for a lodge because we wanted to enjoy the lake-view patio. This was a major reason for choosing the resort. We were not aware that some of the lodges, particularly several located at the back/end of the resort, do not have any lake view. Unfortunately, when we checked in, we discovered that our lodge was one of these properties, with no lake view at all. We spoke to reception, but were told that the resort was fully booked and they could not offer us another lodge. This was extremely disappointing, especially since the lake view was one of the main reasons we booked this accommodation. The cleanliness was an even bigger issue. The lodge appeared as though it had not been properly cleaned or used for a long time. We found 4–5 large spiders in different areas of the lodge when we just went in, including the bedroom, and there were visible spider webs in the corners of the bedroom. The sofa was also noticeably dirty. Overall, for the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard of accommodation and cleanliness. The combination of not getting the lake view we expected and the poor condition/cleanliness of the lodge made the stay very disappointing. If lake views are important to you, I would strongly recommend confirming the exact location and view of your lodge before booking, as apparently not all lodges at the resort have the lake view.

outstanding staff

We had a great experience at the Phaea Blue hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in virtually new condition. Food was excellent and the private beach, though pebbles (not sand) is very convenient. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
