If it’s your first time in Madeira I’d suggest staying somewhere in city center, it takes 15 mins to get to this hotel. Very nice property and amenities. The staff and service is weak , shortage of staff. The breakfast buffet for a 5 starvhotel and the price was so weak as weak.

Good basic 4 star hotel, as a base with a pool and breakfast it was fine for us. As long as a little tired decor doesn’t trigger you you’ll be great. Location is fantastic with a small park next door, shopping centre 5mins walk away and dozens of bars and restaurants nearby.

Overall, we liked it. The pool areas, swimming in the ocean, food and drinks were great. Same for the staff, always friendly and helpful.
Royal Savoy is marketed as a 5 star hotel. It probably is more like a 4 star though how do they compare to other 5 star offerings inMadeira? It is getting close to needing a facelift. We had a junior suite. Largest patio I have ever had. It had a small kitchen area but no coffee maker or stuffed fridge. You have to look for power outlets as there are none around the bed or desk, wifi bumpy now and then but you're not staying there to be online...rather to be offline and enjoy what Madeira has to offer.
Location is great. We walked every day to the city center some 15 minutes or so away. You don't need an Uber or Taxi unless you have limited ability to walk a bit. Lots of tourist choices and Madeira is a very beautiful island. You will not forget your trip!

The Vine hotel has an amazing brunch that is included in the hotel stay. It also has an excellent restaurant for dinner, called UVA, that offers wonderful views of the ocean and the city side. Great for couples!
