Madeira Island Golf Vacations

I was surprised that a 4-star hotel at this price does not have an iron (instead you must pay for a pressing service which is completely cheeky considering the price of the room). Additionally, the lady checking us in was unfriendly and unhelpful. When we checked in there was no record of our booking despite my email receipt which proved payment and we were kept waiting for the best part of an hour and were made to feel that it was our fault. There was very little apology whatsoever once they finally found our booking and allowed us to check in. The outside of the building is dilapidated and requires renovation. Inside of the room there was no conditioner which I was also surprised at considering it is 4 star. However I will say that the view was beautiful and breakfast was tasty. The staff are breakfast were very polite and friendly. Despite this though, I would not choose to stay again.

Good basic 4 star hotel, as a base with a pool and breakfast it was fine for us. As long as a little tired decor doesn’t trigger you you’ll be great. Location is fantastic with a small park next door, shopping centre 5mins walk away and dozens of bars and restaurants nearby.

The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food.The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

A fabulous hotel in an excellent location. Rooms were immaculately clean and cleaned everyday. Staff could not do enough and were so friendly and helpful. The grounds and pool area were very well kept. Excellent buffet breakfast with extensive choice. Never a problem getting a sun-bed and sitting around the pool was very relaxing. Would highly recommend this hotel!
