We paid a lot of money for a long weekend before our jobs become very busy, we've heard so many wonderful things about Abaco. However Expedia sold us a package deal, resort & flight, not cheap. Actually, the prices we paid for the resort in this "package" were higher than if I had booked it independently. Shame on me for trusting Expedia was being honest.
However, on another note, no one thought it was important to alert us to the fact that the whole area was shutdown. The resort was basically empty, 200 rooms and we were the only ones there until the third day, The main restaurant was not open, the main pool was under construction, our only choice was the 2nd pool restaurant, and the very expensive food was awful. We searched for other restaurants nearby, but the whole area was CLOSED.
The resort was lovely, a little tired and it needs some TLC but I'm just very disappointed that neither Expedia nor the resort alerted us to the fact that basically the Caribbean closes down in October. We had no idea.
