Treshnish Isles Pet-friendly Vacations

Not our favourite hotel. We booked a suite as a celebration for 2 nights and was allocated the Highfields Suite. To get to the Suite there were stairs to the lift, then after the lift there was another 2 sets of stairs. Although the latter set of stairs had disabled lifts 1 was out of order. Once in the room it was freezing as no heating had been left on. Lovely spacious room though and massive bathroom....unfortunately freezing cold and a window that overlooked a flat room that needs privacy film added to it. We could tell the room had recently been decorated which was nice. The bed was very comfortable. The evening meal in the restaurant was nice and the staff attentive. First morning we were ready at 8am. No hot water. We contacted reception and were told that workmen were on site and the hot water had drained away due to 'early checkouts'. Why would the manager allow hot water to be turned off at peak time of use? We were told it would take 20 minutes to re heat but it was at least an hour. No heating in bathroom as we were told the fuses had been taken out of the electric towel rails We went out for a few hours and hoped that housekeeping had attended to our room by the time we returned at 1pm. Unfortunately they hadn't so we put the do not disturb sign up. Later (4pm) I asked reception for more coffee sachets and toilet roll. It never arrived. By the second afternoon the room had heated up nicely. The next morning we had to leave early. No one was on reception.

A strange hotel. Great location, helpful staff, clean, comfortable room and very disappointing breakfast. If they could get this resolved this hotel would be fab. Our first breakfast experience was just plain awful for an hotel that has charged nearly £400 for a three night stay. Small buffet table with a few sad looking pastries. Toaster with only choice of bread which was the plastic sliced white stuff. My wife asked for poached eggs on toast. They arrived on a cold plate and not on toast. When we questioned this we were told we had to do our own toast for the eggs. I ordered scrambled eggs. They arrived almost immediately on a cold plate and in a pool of water, presumably from a hot plate somewhere. Our coffee was luke warm from a jug and impossibly strong. Great little hotel but go out for breakfast.

Good sized room well kept Limited menu due to chef leaving recently. What was available was varied to suit most tastes What was served was well cooked tasty and obviously freshly prepared. One of the best meals for a hotel of this level i have ever had. Looking forward to trying out an full menu on a future visit

Really good experience. The spa was excellent and well maintained. The food was lovely and the staff very attentive. Would stay again.

Room was decent enough. No staff actually in the hotel which becomes a problem when you have guests running up and down the corridors all night shouting drunk.

The staff were exceptionally nice. The room was clean. Plenty 9f parking. Breakfast was good. But the evening meals were expensive and not as good as I would expect given how much they cost. We had our last meal there and as I'm a vegetarian, I'm limited anyway. They could not adjust I was told as the meals came ready made - so microwave food for £15 to £20. I ended up getting soup.

The Ambassador Hotel is beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly and professional! The hotel is in a lovely locations, the rooms are all unique and have lovely views, comfortable beds, and luxury bedding. The restaurant is top notch!!!

The front desk had a miscommunication as to how to get to the hotel around a closed road crash which cost us 1.5 hours of driving and not being able to get there. We asked for a partial refund and they were unhelpful. It ultimately was a misunderstanding of which direction we were coming from and which road block we were needing to get around I found dealing with them after the fact very not compassionate even if they couldn’t offer a refund, making it feel entirely like my fault for not being willing to drive 2.5 more hours on the 154 mile detour that was there saying I was the only guest not to make it. A great way to make someone want to return! Make them feel bad about it.
