I expected a 5 Star experience but got a 3 Star experience at best. While it is off season there is no excuse to close all the hotel’s restaurants and to tell guests they must eat off property. I wanted to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel. However, we could not because all the restaurants were shut down due to the hotel wanting to save money and not hire staff. Please do not call yourself a 5 Star hotel and provide your guests with a 3 Star experience. Moreover, they did “not” even comp me for their mishap. Nor was there any room service for guests arriving to the hotel late? It was absolutely absurd. It felt like a “Faulty Towers” episode in all honesty. Travelers who pay for a 5 Star hotel expect to get 5 Star service and amenities. I’m not certain who gave them this rating but they don’t deserve it. I have stayed at 5 Star hotels in Hong Kong, for example, which are world class and not only do these Hong Kong hotels deserve their 5 Star designations but if possible could receive 10 Stars by comparison to the Sundial Resort. Please take Sundial off the 5 Star listing. It doesn’t deserve it! Sufficeit to say, I will be staying elsewhere on my next visit to Sanibel and Captiva Islands. I’m just absolutely flabbergasted and dismayed how the Sundial Resort is able to get away with this? I was told that this Labor Day weekend, the same restaurants will be closed, what a disaster. How can they justify treating their guests like this?! And not have their restaurants open?

Easy to walk to restaurants, bars, shopping etc.. Even if you just window shop up and down 5 th avenue! Love love loved! Great time
