We loved our stay at the Benjamin Hotel. Our room was beautiful, perfectly clean, very modern and comfortable. We had the Studio King room and had plenty of space to spread out. It includes a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, sink and plenty of counter space. It is located on the main Street in Watkins Glen which means it gets very noisy. First of all, the owner/operator Jim proactively called us to confirm our arrival time and couldn't have been more pleasant. When we arrived, he upgraded us to the best room in the lodge which was an absolutely gorgeous, beautifully appointed studio apartment sized suite that was just as clean and comfortable as could be. It had a spectacular view of Seneca Lake as well. We missed breakfast that next morning, but the giant sized common kitchen/dining/parlor area remained accessible with fresh...

The hotel was excellent as a base for visiting several state parks in the area, the closest being Watkins Glen which is so close the hotel parking is just outside the official parking. The hotel has character from the rooms down to the unique features of selling its own home made ice-cream and beeswax. The breakfast is simple but nice, waffles (with the help of the waffle machine), apples, bananas and coffee.

Beautiful location, bedding nice, helpful staff, convenient parking right in front of our room. Room had coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Hotel lobby had coffee/tea but no breakfast. Have to travel for breakfast. Room had only one chair and a low small table. An additional chair would be good. Staff had no control but one person hogged the coffee machine and used the last drop of coffee without letting staff know. It was annoying but beyond staff control.
