Weekend getaways in Monteverde

We booked a single night here at the very last minute trying to escape the heat of the west coast beach towns. We were so glad we did. This hotel is absolutely stunning. We had one of the rooms upstairs from the lobby rather than one of the bungalows but the room was amazing with a spacious first floor, kitchenette, balcony and a very cool loft bedroom/bath. Hands down one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had in my life. The tiny house was clean, wonderfully decorated. It included snacks and some small gifts that made the stay even more special. The bed and linens were amazingly comfortable. It was wonderful to sit outside in the hot tub or inside by the fire. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The owner Jose is such a great guy… my stay at Hotel Tropico was wonderful. Beautiful views from every room there, beautiful sun sets… the restaurant on the property is great… I would definitely stay here again!

Casa Curre was exactly as advertised. The views from the house were stunning, and the house is clean & comfortable. The driveway is steep & gravel - a little ground clearance is needed and 4x4 is a good idea, but probably not required. It's a longer drive into town than i realized - it's narrow and curvy but the road is in good shape. If you can make it up the mountain to Santa Elena, you'll be ready for it. It was an absolutely amazing place to stay at! Everyone was so kind and helpful! The property really felt like heaven on earth. The views were gorgeous, their oasis was relaxing and amazing. Breakfast was fresh and delicious everyday.

Clean and modern space with great views. Good location within 10m drive to main Monteverde attractions. The host accommodated early check in and was communicative.

No words I can write could ever do this place justice. The views are unbelievable and the amenities in the room go above and beyond expectations! There were umbrellas, card games, a telescope for looking at the stars, an outside lounge net, a hot tub on the balcony, and even the shower had a window with an amazing view! Alex was so welcoming and friendly! He recommended the best dining spots and brought us on a night-walking tour and a guided tour of the Monteverde Hanging Bridges!

So cool. Totally different than a hotel but just as clean. If you go to Monteverde, USE A 4X4. And do Extremo Canopy. I also heard 100% Adventure was really good but Extremo was the coolest thing in 20 days we've done in CR.

Great place

Room was nicely decorated. Staff was friendly. Nice view out back of room into the woods. We had a 7:00 am tour so we couldn’t utilize regular breakfast. They made us a sandwich, fruit, and juice which was appreciated, but if all that was done, they could have just as easily fed us normal breakfast a little early. Also, a little difficult to check out and still be able to access your car when you return. Overall, enjoyed it!

One of a kind place to stay! Very comfortable and well equipped with great attention to detail. There are AC, fans, heaters. Kitchenette has all needed appliances. We stayed for one night only, but wished our travel schedule would have allowed to stay there for at least two nights. Place is very car dependent, located further from downtown.

super cute cabins in the middle of the cloud forest! I loved staying here. it was very windy making it a bit scary, but I put the mat under the door to make the door not jiggle and I was fast asleep. we had number 15 and it was perfect. it was a king bedroom suite, living room, kitchen and huge bathroom! I will absolutely recommend to everyone i know going to Costa Rica! #puravida

This hotel was a near perfect luxury hotel. It was beautifully appointed, melted into the ecosystem, had lovely facilities and grounds, and was understated in its luxury. The only area of improvement would be the food. I recommend that the chefs try less to be innovative and more to be consistent in flavor profile and time to table. For example, we sent back several dishes because like the Al pastor hibiscus tacos and the cold eggs with yogurt and oil (Turkish eggs?).

New and stylish property. Super comfy beds. Super clean. Hot water. Very comfortable stay. Laundry across the street, grocery store a few meters away as well as gas station. Responsive owners.
