The Gin Hotel is a must stay again for me. The Gin is a unique hotel in a 100yr old building right in downtown Lexington. It was quiet, clean, safe and all of the staff were awesome. I grew up in the area but haven't returned in a couple of decades. Downtown Lexington has transformed into a great place to walk around, shop, eat and have a few drinks. The only negatives I would give is parking is tight for modern vehicles and the mattress was firmer than my taste... but that's personal...

I was driving from New York back home to Texas after my father’s funeral, already emotionally exhausted and running on fumes. Then Mother Nature decided she wanted to participate in my road trip! It was nightfall, raining cats and dogs, and I couldn’t see five feet in front of me. At that point, I wasn’t sure if I was driving to Texas or straight into the pearly gates!...
