We made our choice based on the previous reviews and were not disappointed. We chose one of the package rates which includes breakfast and sauna in the mornings and would highly recommend that option. Everything was lovely, from the breakfast to the staff. I love small hotels and they’ve done an excellent job at maintaining it. Everyone was friendly and the location was wonderful.

Great stay right in Old Town. Sauna was very relaxing and felt luxurious. Quick and easy communication with management. Would recommend!

Clean room , good breakfast

Lydia is a small, modern boutique hotel in the middle of Tartu close to all the attractions of this great little city. Room was well furnished with all the comforts and amenities of any 5 star hotel. Hotel restaurant is first class and patronized by the locals, so advance reservations recommended. Hotel is across the street from the city center plaza and close to the university. Highly recommend this hotel.

Immediately opposite the university’s historic main building. Ambience and décor are a great match for its location. Our bathroom was especially unique with original marble floors in excellent condition and a great view of the floodlight historic building across the street. Supposedly hosts Tartu’s best restaurant but the frilly décor and basement location was not to our taste so we ate elsewhere. However, breakfast buffet in the same location was excellent. Kristi, the Head Concierge, is the best! I needed to make floral arrangements for a funeral on a Sunday when all shops were closed- and Kristi was able to leverage her contacts to get a beautiful bouquet to the service. She will never know how much this simple gesture meant to me and my family, but she delivered when needed most. This is definitely the hotel in Tallinn in which to stay!

Excellent property, comfortable beds, nice size bathroom with walk in showers, very clean. Nice pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub. Excellent location about 5 minutes or less walk into Old Town. I arrived on an early ferry from Helsinki and through I would just drop off my bags for the day as check in and a at 3:00 pm and it was 11:00 am. A very cute, clean and authentic hotel located in the center of Helsinki. Every place of interest is within a walking distance. Homecooked dinner and breakfast, great variety of healthy food and drinks, and excellent service were a pleasant surprise. The room was exceptionally clean with super comfortable mattress and pillows.

The room was a good size. Nice to have a fridge. The shower was amazing, lots of water pressure and hardly no wait time for hot water. Within walking distance of most attractions, as a solo white female I felt safe walking around alone.

We had a very comfortable stay at Hotel Sophia. Unfortunately we only spent one night there. I could have stayed for a couple of days. Our room was extremely spacious and so was the bathroom. The hotel seems to be quite new and it is even connected to the big shopping center next door. The hotel staff was polite and helpful, both the lady at the reception as well as the staff in the breakfast room. There's also free parking.

Ammende Villa is a legend. It has never failed my expectations - wonderful historic building, superb staff and gourmet restaurant - all of this at a price that makes you think of moving in full-time.
