I was stuck in a severe winter advisory and storm while vacationing in Breckenridge. I knew the roads would not be good for travel and I was fortunate to get a room at the Ramada in Frisco. This was a great place to stay for a spring ski trip to A Basin. The bus that goes up to A Basin stops right next to this property, so it was very easy to get up to the mountain. The studio condo was very nice--well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and pillows, and very clean. We absolutely loved BlueSky! We stayed in room 402, a one bedroom suite. We were shocked at how roomy it was. It had 2 luxurious bathrooms, a master bedroom, and a den with privacy doors. Both the couches in the den and family room had pull out beds. This room was perfect for our family of four. The kids loved the heated pool, arcade, and free DVDs. We went during spring break with our two children. The pros: full kitchen, very clean, excellent staff, children 12 and under receive free breakfast, walking distance to slopes via gondola, not crowded like Beaver Creek, bus stop in front of hotel to Beaver Creek. Cons: no daily maid service, $20 daily valet service, and no pool. But if you want a pool you can walk to the Avon Recreational Center which has a indoor lap pool and a water slide.

We only stayed one night, but the room was very clean, comfy and quiet. We got a good night’s sleep which was much needed after driving all day.

The town of Red Cliff is a former mining town tucked in a deep chasm with great architecture and bridges. The Green Bridge Inn fits nicely with it's 3-story building wrapped with a covered porch on all levels. The entire building is renovated in every way. Excellent hotel/resort and very friendly/professional staff. We stayed at the Mountain Thunder lodge off-peak season at Breckenridge (Nov 30 - Dec2), so admittedly the resort was quieter than usual, but we were automatically upgraded to a larger (2-bed) room upon check-in and felt extremely welcome. This was an overnight on a 3 day drive from Telluride to Central, Illinois. The Hampton Inm was perfect and so comfortable. We walked to a restaurant and enjoyed our last evening viewing the mountains.

Pros: Across the street from Golden Peak lift. Short walk into Vail Village. Great breakfast!!!! I enjoyed the fireplace inside the room. Cons: Parking. The underground parking spaces are limited for $40/day, and I had to circle around 3 times. Then I waited 45 minutes to see if anyone would leave to find a spot.
