Tyron Equestrian Center and the Resort is just a once in a lifetime experience. The restaurants are top notch, and the Resort accommodations are extremely comfortable. This place is a horse enthusiast dream. The views are just espectacular from our room we could see the sunset over the mountains.

We enjoyed our three day stay at the Firehouse. It's an old fire and police station situated a few blocks off Main Street. The rooms were decorated nicely although most of the building is original (and in very good condition) which we enjoyed seeing. In the morning we ate in a lovely dining room where a very nice staff person fixed and served a cooked to order breakfast with juice, fresh fruit, and freshly brewed coffee. We stayed in the Chocolate Room six months ago and checked in on Dec. 31st, New Year's Eve. We got there at around 10 at night. Many of the other guests and the staff were asleep. Over the past 5 years we have had occasion to stay at The Lodge many times and it never disappoints. In a word, the Lodge is comfortable. Everything is easy from the parking to the check in to the nice breakfast. The rooms allow for storing food you might have brought with you in a nice size fridge with a decent freezer area. This is a beautiful and friendly property. The room was comfortable, everything (TV, bathroom facilities, etc.) worked, and the entire facility was very clean. During our visit, Hurricane Helene moved across the area, and the hotel lost power. The staff did everything they could to make sure everyone was safe. We had free hotels.com nights and were disappointed that the boutique hotel in town wouldn't accept them so we booked the hampton inn instead. I am so glad we did. Super cute hotel with only 6 rooms upstairs and a bar/coffee counter downstairs with excellent beer/wine and coffee options, a fancy pizza truck on site, and lovely outdoor areas at the front and back. Just driving up to the Orchard Inn took my breath away. It's a beautiful, Victorian building in a mountain forest.
