Last-minute hotel deals in Johnstown

I always stay here when I come and visit family in New York. The breakfast options I think have slowly gone down hill :/

This was a pretty nice old building in relatively great condition for its age.Beyond being very clean this hotel has the best water pressure in the shower of any hotel i have ever stayed in. Great hotel for the price.It gets a 10 out of 10 for me.

Spectacular interior spaces and super friendly owner. The interior is filled with incredible woodwork, especially grand staircase. Our suite was large and comfortable. Books everywhere to read. Great amount of satisfying choices for breakfast. We were pleasantly stuffed afterwards. Close to several restaurants. We were biking the Erie Canal Trail from Syracuse to Amsterdam NY and it was very convenient, close to trail and owner insisted on having our bikes inside. Loved it!!!

After traveling a long way I was greeted at the desk by a wonderful female staff. She provided me dinner recommendations and reminded me of the complementary beverages in the lobby. The room was very clean and there were plenty of towels. It was a little tricky to find as the road sneaks up on you even with GPS and the room was a little thin but everything else was worth it. It was a real treat to stay at the Balsam Inn! The Inn is off the beaten path like I wanted and very very quite. Jenny is a warm welcoming host. She even upgraded my room just because it was available. The room itself was beautiful! It felt like I was a guest in someones Adirondack mountain home. Great location. Awesome staff.

Check-in and check-out were painless. The room served us well and the best part was that the place is pet-friendly so our dog could stay with us. Great cereal choices for the continental breakfast. We only stayed one night -- no issues.

Our stay was good. Hotel was clean and comfy, good value for the money. Only wish the breakfast was more than bagels.
