Central with parking but noisy and a bit shabby

Posted Apr 13, 2015
It was a bed for the night. A rather uncomfy one though. Breakfast wasn't very nice either. Not dreadful but I won't be staying there again. Walls were paper thin too.

Pros: The Breakfast!!
Cons: Duty/Assistant Manager could be patrolling the corridors of the hotel at all times. Managers should check rooms BEFORE they are re-allocated
Problems started during evening of Friday 3rd April. When my wife & I went to our room around about 8.30pm we heard what seemed to me a computer game being played EXCEEDINGLY LOUDLY. This went on for another 2 hours at which point I went up to the next level in the hotel & could hear (if not feel) the noise coming from a particular room. I went to Reception & reported the noise and, thankfully, it was stopped at 10.45pm. The second problem occurred, on the Saturday morning when the same noise started again above us about 8am. Went to Reception again to ask for a room change which one of the Duty Managers arranged, stating that all our clothes & baggage would be moved to the re-allocated room. The third and most annoying/cause of vexation came about when my wife & I entered the re-allocated room later that day. We IMMEDIATELY experienced an OVERPOWERING SMELL of CIGARETTE SMOKE in a, supposedly, NON-SMOKIMG Room. We tried to disguise the smell using perfume and aftershave as she did not want ot move again. My wife is very sensitive to noise and she heard a domestic argument in a room which went on from 11.30pm until 3am Sunday & as I could not sleep because of the smell of smoke, I asked the Duty Night Manager organise us another room change, which he did. I also took him to the room with the Excessive Smell of Cigarette Smoke & he INSTANTLY said we should NEVER have been placed in that room. & he was a smoker!!! We left Sunday morning as I did not want any more hassle

Staff Rude

Posted Mar 28, 2015
When I arrived at the hotel it was 11:20pm. At the reception desk was a female and 2 males. They were joking around and laughing as the female receptionist was trying to explain the direction to my room. I also asked if I could get a pint as it was a long day at the office and was told the bar was closed. One of the males said I could order room service and the charge was £5 and then whatever the beer costs. When walking past the bar I noticed a guest sitting there having a glass of wine. So overall rude staff and they certainly don't go the extra mile for the guests.

A good base for a weekend break.

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, convenient location and good facilities.
Cons: Some areas were a bit tired, but it wasn't a major issue.
Location: The hotel's on a main bus route to the city centre so it's easy to access everything Aberdeen has to offer.
Easy to find by car with plenty of car park spaces and on a bus route to the city centre, the Treetops was a great base for a long weekend. My room was clean, comfortable and far enough from the wedding receptions to make for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was a well-presented buffet with plenty of choice and helpful staff on hand and to work the calories off the attached Living Well club allows for on-site exercise. The pool was busy with swimming lessons on the weekend mornings though. I didn't dine but the bar menu was perfectly adequate and again the staff were great.

Overnight stay to attend family party. Room was clean, comfy bed, nice selection of teas in room. Gym was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good apart from cold scrambled eggs but sausages and haggis very good
