"When we checked in there was a situation with our room. We brought it to the attention of the manager. She immediately and professionally remedied the situation. What could have been an uncomfortable stay was one of the nicest stays we have had over our 34 years of marriage. The hotel and grounds are impeccable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. "

"The moment we arrived at West Winds Motel and Cottages in Clayton, we knew we picked the right place to stay while visiting Thousand Islands. West Wind cottages are located along the St. Lawrence River with a beautiful view of the River from the entry to the property. We stayed in the motel type rooms there because there were no vacant cottages upon our arrival thinking that we could move to a cottage the next day when there was a vacancy, however, we enjoyed our room so much that we never changed to the cottage. The rooms were very clean and comfortable as was the bed. The bed was queen sized which was all they offered. The bathroom was a little small with only a shower but that worked for us. It was also immaculate. Clean towels were offered daily. The owner, Dean, was really nice and friendly. He took great care of the grounds showing care and pride in his business and treating us like family. He builds a nightly fire for all to enjoy and we even observed him blowing off the sidewalks for added cleanliness. He also accredited his wife for the nice little touches found on the property and in the rooms. There was a nice little 24 hour coffee room stocked and equipped with Keurig coffee, creamer, cups with lids, ice and even a wine bottle opener. All rooms and cottages have an outdoor picnic table which was convenient. There was an in ground pool which was very clean. We have great memories and pictures of our stay at West Winds. "We had a great long weekend with our family that came in from out of town. Walking distance to restaurants and gift shops! Extremely comfortable beds and everything was very clean and as described! Allison was a grwat host amd communicator! "

"Tucked away on a private road the property offered everything listed and more. Clean and comfortable for our family of ten over the stay. The weather was unfortunately awful which prevented much use of the outdoor deck and fishing but we were able to cook out and enjoy the ample space inside as well as make quick trips for dinner and breakfast in Clayton and Alex Bay given their close proximity to the house. Only 1 issue was experienced during the stay which was the a/c unit not working in the master bedroom which I reached out to the property manager and they said they would have it looked at. Besides that we can’t wait to return to enjoy this property next year when hopefully Mother Nature cooperates better. Thanks from our entire family for a wonderful week together!"

"Loved our stay at this lovely home- so convenient and quiet! It had a fabulous dock for our 26 foot boat as well as our friends 21 foot boat. The accommodation was comfortable and well appointed. The host was quick to respond and very helpful. Plenty of parking was available and it’s great that it is so close to Gal’s and Foxy’s Restaurant. "
