Great value accommodation. Bed linens were crisp and clean, beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. The owners have obviously been replacing major fixtures over time, but some parts of the room were in need of some attention (i.e. paint in the bathroom could use a touch-up). Everything worked the way it should though, so for the price this was perfectly acceptable. It had a heated outdoor pool which is a nice touch and onsite restaurant but we did not use either one just due to the nature of our visit to the area. Given the location, I could see this being a very popular option for people looking for inexpensive, basic but clean accommodation. No complaints.

The room was unique with a hot tub, good lighting, amenities and plenty of room. The host and other staff were extremely pleasant and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. He even lent my husband scissors from the office to solve a problem. The Continental breakfast was very simple, which we liked because we'd rather not pay for a large buffet. However, there was an option to buy breakfast from a menu if others preferred a big breakfast. We had a nice stay and would visit again if we were in the area.

Rating: 2/5 Underwhelming and in desperate need of an update. Am I expecting too much from a motel? Maybe. But I've stayed at dated places that are kept up well, and it makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, I wouldn't give the Riviera another chance unless they seriously up their game. The Good: Dinner: The attached restaurant actually does a very good dinner service. The Bad: The Rooms: Desperately need a renovation. Scratched laminate floors, walls that need fresh paint, and a shower/tub that looks like it belongs in a rundown apartment building. The Pool: Advertised as heated, but it was not. Chipped paint everywhere made it look very unappealing. The Breakfast: A very disappointing continental breakfast. Bread, muffins, cereal, what tasted like powdered eggs, and "orange drink" instead of actual juice.
