Could use some updating

It was clean but the carpeted areas are worn. Would have loved a hot tub near the pool.

A-OK with me

Posted Aug 19, 2014
I stayed here while visiting family for a wedding and attending the state fair and I thought this hotel was just right. It's no luxury hotel but what you'd expect for the money. Within about 10 minutes of everything important in Des Moines, it was a great location right off the highway with a convenience store and a Dunkin Donuts right across the street, as well as a decent Mexican restaurant with great drink specials right next door! Warm salt water pool and continental breakfast every day were both a plus. Would recommend!

Stay some place else.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Fire the staff Make a breakfast that is eatable. Remodel rooms. CLEAN the place
Location: Just in town for the fair. Front desk was unable to assist us in getting a cab, was told there is a phone book in the room.
It began from the the moment i walked, front desk attendant was talking to 3 young girls, not guest as far a i could tell, just acquaintances. When she finished with them, she was able to help me, told her I had booked 2 rooms. She then pulled reservation up on computer, and said the rooms are ready, but they are not next to each other. Not next to each other is a total understatement, they were on totally opposite ends of the building on different floors. Said that is all they have booked for me, nothing could be done. Key card hard to use to get in the side door, had to swipe about 10 times. Hall ways old and dirty, stains on carpets, and dark. All rooms say they are smoke free, but the lingering odder of smokers from the 80's and 90's still is strong and unpleasant to a non smoker. Entering the rooms just continued from what was in the hall way. Stains on carpet, stains on couch, mold on windows, smoke stuffy smell. One of the rooms the bed had micro airline size pillows, other one had old wore out smashed full sized ones. Coffee pot you get 2 coffee's have to make one at a time. One regular one Decaf, no sugar or creamer just the coffee. After using the toilet had to take off back lid and fix so it would stop running. A full size mirror would be nice addition to have. Breakfast worst we went to another place to eat.

Pretty decent hotel overnight

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: The dude at the desk hooked me up with a new room-key.
Cons: The windows, they didn't open at all.
Location: Downtown Des Moines is only 10 minutes away, many things to do there.
I got really wasted and didn't wake up for breakfast or swimming but overall it was a legit stay.

Free breakfast, clean, nice staff, pool water not so good. The best thing I liked about it is the beds. Very comfortable . Don't have laundry facility. Other than that I'll give if a 4*

Poor Excuse for a Day's Inn

Posted Aug 5, 2014
I booked this on the basis of positive experiences I have had at other Days Inns. I can't believe Day's Inn will even put their name on this property! Front desk help was unwilling to help and unpleasant. Location is not safe. My sister and I booked this just for one night to pass through Des Moines we took one look at the room and location and decided even though the room fee was non refundable our safety was worth more, and left the property. I have booked many hotels with Expedia and this is the first time I have been disappointed.

Keep going past this one

Terrible room. Floor wet from leaking sink. Had been leaking a long time from the amount of water on the floor. Walls are paper thin and was kept up all night by loud neighbors.
