Pros: Staff, food, pool, Zorro show
Location: Gateway to Copper Canyon
Great location in El Fuerte, close to central market, cathredral, mission, etc. Staff very accomodating and food was very good in restaurant. Clean, comfortable rooms. Secure parking for car if you are planning on going on Copper Canyon train and tours. Fun nightly Zorro show.

Nice hotel - pity we had problems at breakfastPosted Apr 28, 2013
Pros: Very pretty courtyards inside, well kept, calm.
Location: Excellent central location near all the main attractions but no noise problems
Posada Del Hidalgo Hotel The hotel looks great inside - very attractive gardens, patios, dining rooms, nice big bedrooms with reasonable facilities. Location is good - next to the fort and close (but not so close as to be noisy) to the central square and centre buildings which are very attractive. Access to the pleasant river walkway is close by. The Fuerte river which comes from the copper canyon complex runs round the town. The depute manager spoke very good english. This hotel had correctly booked two rooms for our party of four - all the hotels we stayed in on our copper canyon trip seemed to have rooms with two king size beds as standard and other hotels assumed that because a booking had been made for two rooms in only one name it was a mistake and only one room was wanted. I have rated the hotel four stars because of its overall qualities. However, we did have a problem with breakfast. We, like many other guests, were booked on the Copper Canyon train which means leaving the hotel at 7.45am. We went down to breakfast at 7.00 and by 7.30 only coffee and one portion of unacceptable cereal had arrived so we had to abandon breakfast. The depute manager was very apologetic but the breakfast problems we encountered left us with some question marks about aspects of the hotel service. In summary, a lovely looking hotel with comfortable facilities in a good location but pity about the breakfast.

Very beautiful place to stayPosted Nov 10, 2012
Pros: The overall feel, the service and the food. We spent far more enjoying the food than the room.
Location: out of the way unless you're doing Copper canyon
Way off the beaten path, a very beautiful hotel, the staff was just great. This was our first taste of fine Mexican hospitality with no northern influence. The town is very different with lots of interesting sights.

An excellent hotel that has preserved its old charm with all the modern conveniences.Posted May 16, 2011
Excellent choice for a starting point of a Copper Canyon trip. Your car is left securely in the Hotels locked parking area during your trip.
