Family Friendly

Stayed for a long weekend, staff from night auditor to housekeeping super friendly. Location was perfect for beach, pool and dining. Sand castle making containers, kayaks, paddleboards, pool toys and bicycles available. Breakfast basket plentiful. Other guests friendly and considerate. Parking available for large vehicles like trucks. Clean room and nicely decorated. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Laid back hotel on a shell-filled beach

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Seaside Inn is outside Sanibel's crowded main business district, so it's quieter and has much less traffic. Rooms were decently sized. Pool was nice.
Cons: Parking lot is small with tight spaces/check-in time is 4 pm, but our room wasn't ready til later/dairy items in b'fast basket left out on counter.
Location: The Sanibel lighthouse is a short drive away. The lighthouse, sunrise & sunset are visible from the beach in front of the inn. Excellent shelling!
We would stay at Seaside Inn again. The room was clean & quiet. The beach is just a few feet away & chairs & umbrellas are provided. The main problem was with the breakfast baskets that are left in the room. They seem to be replenished when the room is cleaned, so maybe between noon & 4 pm? The baskets were not put in the refrigerator, so if you are out of the room til late evening, the milk, yogurt, cream cheese and hard-boiled eggs are sitting out til you return. When we checked in, the breakfast basket that was in the fridge was too big, keeping the door from closing; the fridge and food were warm & took a long time to cool down. The fridge did not have a freezer, so we were unable to freeze the ice packs for our cooler. The fridge was right behind the main door of the room & a door stop was screwed into the floor to prevent the door from hitting the fridge, but it also made it impossible to fully open the refrigerator door! These were small things, but taken together were pretty annoying! The coffee maker had not been cleaned in a while - there were burned-on coffee rings on the bottom of the pot. The rest of the room and the bathroom were better tended than the kitchen area.

Pros: the quiet,
Cons: parking accomodations, parking lot was small

Great hotel on quiet beach. Clean rooms fairly recently remodeled. Nice bikes to borrow. Kayaks and paddleboards for the ocean.

Great value, right on the beach

This was our first visit to Sanibel. We would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and comfortable. We loved getting a breakfast basket each afternoon for the next morning. It contained a good variety including cereal, bagels, muffins, breakfast bars, milk and juice. Beach and pool towels were available for use, as well as beach chairs and umbrellas. The only tiny drawback was that some areas had quite a bit of standing water after a storm.

Great Location

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Location. Quiet and peaceful.
Location: Bicycling, shelling, beach, fishing nearby. Shell museum - discover more than you ever wanted to know about shells!
This was our first time in Sanibel and we were pleased with our hotel. Upon arrival there appeared to be some confusion over the reservation and who might already be in the room we had reserved some months earlier. Not to worry...the gent working reception upgraded our room to the second floor. The room was comfortable and well equipped. If one chooses to prepare snacks or limited meals, the small kitchen is sufficient. Being beside the beach was fantastic. The bicycles available for use by guests is a great bonus. Getting around Sanibel by bike is easy and fun. The provided breakfast basket was more than adequate. It gave enough light fare options to start the day (we were pleasantly surprised.) We would recommend this hotel.

Felt like home.

Pros: It was small and everything was within a short walk to get to on the property and beach.
Cons: Air Conditioning units - set it at 73 and when it ran it was noisy and ran for a long time - the room would then get very warm before it came back on.
Location: Great Location - on the beach ; a couple miles from everything!! Take the bikes and explore.
Our stay at Seaside Inn was wonderful. My (adult) daughter and I stayed here for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The Inn is not a five star property but it has everything you will need and more. Our accommodations were very comfortable and the room was size was adequate for the two of us - not sure if it would have been big enough for four adults - would be fine for a family with young children (which there were several around us). The air conditioning worked very well - though we couldn't figure out the timing of it because it would get really cold and then need to get really warm in the room before it would kick in. We had different things go bonkers in our room and Michael was amazing - showed up immediately to fix them. He made sure the umbrella's and chairs were ready and waiting for us and even helped us get the kayak back to the proper place after using it (we had never used one before and didn't know that you had to empty the water out of it before moving it). Everyone at the front desk were great - they greeted us with a smile and were always eager to help or answer our questions (and believe me, we had a lot of them being our first time to Sanibel). Our favorite things about Seaside Inn: The fresh baked cookies everyday; the beach chairs and umbrellas; the awesome pool; the use of kayaks and Bikes for touring from sun up to sun down (amazing) and the mini kitchen in our room. We are already planning to return next summer with our families.

Pros: Comfortable, clean and quiet.
Cons: Need more beach facilities to accommodate the patrons.
Location: It is off the heavily trafficked roads but a short drive to anything you desire. Lots of good places to eat and shop.
We enjoyed the room and the pool. We were greeted by Steven who was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The in-room amenities were a delight. The only down side was the shortage of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. They were all taken by the time we were prepared to use them. We used the associated restaurant for breakfast one day instead of the supplied snacks.
