"A wonderfully historic house with an equally wonderful garden, location and views. So very peaceful. Only a quick drive to Launceston for provisions. Everyone said their beds were comfortable. Lots of games for the garden and indoor board games for family fun. It was hard to drag ourselves away to go enjoy all the fun things to do in the area. The owner provided a very comprehensive list."

The host were welcoming and companionable but not intrusive. They told us about nice places to visit for wild swimming and the honey and food they sell is excellent. "Some years ago after a few days in Cairo to visit the pyramids etc., we went on to Alexandria and stayed in a hotel, with all its spender that probably dated back to the old empire days. Entering the room we had at The Eagle House Hotel, although smaller and not as grand, was a reminder of our stay in Alexandria. There was also a bar at the Eagle, that does very good meals in the evenings to save having to go out again to find somewhere to eat. The bar also had real ale. Very good breakfast in...
