Great, quiet family hotel

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Very relaxing, beautiful resort. Amazing views. Lovely pools. Water slides kept kids busy the whole time- separate to relaxing pools so they don't disturb others. Sailing and kayaks included- we used them lots. Kids club well run- though we only used it once! Food and cocktails delicious. Good kids menu. Long tail to jetty nearby to access Phuket Island. Need cabs to go anywhere- they are always there waiting and set prices. Complimented our first week in a busier part of Thailand. Would go back anytime.

Peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Peaceful and spacious
Location: If you want somewhere quiet and peaceful, this is the place. Phuket Town is about 30 minutes away, so as long as you just want to relax, come here!
We wanted somewhere to recharge our batteries, and boy we got it in May 2014. The hotel, after corresponding to them direct just before we arrived, had arranged pick-up at the airport, which included a driver and a long-tail boat to deliver us to the island. We received a free upgrade to a Pool Villa (we had paid originally for a Jacuzzi room) and it was perfect. Food was plentiful and the fresh fruit cocktails were lovely! We had a private dinner on the beach and also a chef cooked for us a Surf n Turf BBQ dinner at our villa too. The pool was big and the slides were fun. We took a trip to Koh Rang Island and it was luxurious; the beach and waters there are lovely to swim in, compared to the muddy dark water at The Village, but this is because of the direction of the tides, so we weren't too bothered. All in all, a perfect visit, hence we are already in the midst of arranging another visit in August 2014!

Peaceful & Beautiful place to stay

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Cons: Small lights en route to villas can be put up across the place. It is very dark in the night Vegetarian menu can be included
Pros A lonely beautiful place that will give you lot of peace & relaxation. It takes about 3 to 5 mins in a ferry to reach the island. The ferry is free of cost and operates at scheduled timing between island and main land. Good frequency! The first impression is that the place is very quiet, green & serene. We were taken to our room which was neat and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary cookwares. The kitchen was most essential as we were vegetarians. Breakfast was excellent. But if you are vegetarian please make your arrangements for rest of your meals. The place also offers an excellent Thai massage! Do try. Cons The bathroom amenities can be improved. We had used two of their accommodation types. Either of it had some issues with shower and the pipe Except the receptionists, not many staffs speak English. However communication is a huge prob;em all over Thailand. It is tough to find tuk-tuks or rental bike near to this place. So Taxi is the only option for commutation and it costs you a bomb! Suggestions Small lights en route to villas can be put up across the place. It is very dark in the night Vegetarian menu can be included Overall it was a very memorable happy stay! :) Totally recommend this one.

We stayed at 1 bedroom sea view villa. We dont have any negative point to say. Our stay was excellent. All hotel services, cleaningness, Spa treatment, swimming pool, sea view and all are awesom. I will surely recommend this resort if someone want to go.

Beautiful venue but bad service

Posted May 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel locates at great location. The island is only 5 mins away from phuket mainland. The beach is not as very beautiful and good for swimming as the other side of Phuket but very peaceful and calm. The hotel is beautiful and good decoration but the service is rather poor. The check in process was very disappointed, it took us almost 45 mins to get to the room and after that we found that the room air con was not working properly. It took us 2 hrs more to move the room but the hotel upgraded the room for us. The food and drink at hotel is rather expensive and the taste and quality is not good enough. The bar beside the beach is fantastically beautiful and comfortable.

Awesome Villas, brilliant staff!

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Villas, private pools, slides for the kids, Tamarind bar for sundowners, super friendly and helpful staff, etc...
Cons: Beach cleanliness (small issue).
We returned to The Village Coconut Island for a second stay, but brought my folks along this time, as we were very impressed with the first visit. We stayed in a 4-bed beachfront villa which was very comfortable, well appointed and ensured that our stay was super comfortable! It seemed to us that the staff had our best intentions at heart from check-in right through to the late check-out that was afforded us due to the late flights that we had booked. if I am not mistaken, when we asked for a late check-out, we were told "go and enjoy your day and check-out whatever time you want to!" - brilliant, and another reason that we will return for a third stay, hopefully pretty soon! If I had to stretch myself for any negative comments, it would be that the people "cleaning" the beach do more burying of rubble than picking up - a little more effort will ensure that the beach is kept pristine, as we were picking up 3 or 4 pieces of glass each time we walked to or from our villa. Overall, I have already, and will continue to recommend The Village Coconut Island - love the place!

Not what we expected

Probably the wrong choice for a single night stay. This hotel is on it's own Island, lovely staff and a luxurious location but...the on island shop is expensive for what is stocked, the 24 hour water taxi is only by request between 07.15 and 20.00 and the town is a further taxi from the pier. The restaurants are very westernised. It was an unfortunate disappointment for us, but if you want a resort based holiday in Thailand it would be perfect.

Majestic hotel

Posted Feb 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
My friend and I stayed here 14-17 February 2014. We stayed in one of the Grand Villas with other friends... Originally we stayed in one garden view room with an outdoor jacuzzi, but aside from the main door, there aren't any other doors... Which is weird when you're showering or using the toilet! So we switched over to the extra room with 2 double beds in the Villa.... Gorgeous sea view with private outdoor pool. The buffet breakfast is plentiful with decent variety. The Boulangerie restaurant is tasty, especially the coconut frappe!!! Front desk staff were cheerful and helpful. There are water taxis to get you to the main land, which is important for any shopping or tours. One runs on the hour and half hour, the other runs on the :15 and :45. The second one only runs when there isn't low tide. It's definitely a remote hotel, so getting to your tour could take anywhere from 30-60 minutes, but they'll advise you. Overall, this is a beautiful, sprawling, peaceful hotel and I highly recommend it!!!

Very disappointing stay

Posted Feb 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
Village is located in coconut island,in the middle of nowhere, the beach is not good, the hotel is aging and full of big tourist groups from China, Russia. The restaurants are overpriced and food is not amazing (except pizza and breakfast which are good). It will take u more than an hour to reach nice beaches and the round trip will cost about 50 usd. I would not come back and strongly Not recommend.
