Not a HILTON I recognize!Posted Apr 25, 2015
We got a small room, no bath, just a shower; a locked frig; charges for using internet and phone that were excessive; a pool/hot tub with beer cans floating there; and a conference that had people lined up in hallways all week!

Very dated, over-crowded and over-pricedPosted Apr 22, 2015
Guest rooms were pretty good but communal areas of hotel with the exception of the lobby areas look like they haven't been updated since the '70s. Hotel wanted $13 for basic WiFi which considering they charge nearly $300 for a room is a complete rip off and insult to guests. There was a conference taking place during my stay so navigating through communal areas of the hotel was tricky, constantly having to weave in and out of groups of people just to get in and out of the hotel.

Convention at the HiltonPosted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and they offered valet parking. Room service was excellent, too.
Cons: Need more food options in the hotel. The line for Starbucks wrapped around their huge lobby. They also have a small restaurant and room service
Location: The location is good and there are plenty of great restaurants, shops, and places to go near by. But it's SF, that's almost true where ever you stay.
I spent several nights at here while attending a convention. The room was nice, but the bed was a tad uncomfortable. I also didn't like the layout of the hotel as my room was very far from an exit and I felt like a hamster in a maze trying to get to my room.

This hotel should be rated a 3 star hotelPosted Apr 21, 2015
This hotel should be much more comfortable. I am a 5'4" female and the pillows that they provide were the size of throw pillows and when you lay on them they seem to disinigrate. For this location and the price I paid, I expected to be more comfortable. I will not stay here again.

A Little DisappointingPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Position - close to Union Square and the excellent staff who do a great job.
Cons: Fix the things above - overall we spent many thousands of dollars with Hilton and felt we were short changed her
Location: Its near Union Square and great shopping, a good range of eating places near by, public transport is also close to the sights around the city.
We traveled to the States as a family group of 7 and used Hilton Hotels in all places we stayed. This was by far the most expensive so we expected the best but after Vegas it was disappointing. No free wifi in room, 1 paper cup for 3 in one room, and 2 for 4 in the other, plus a dribbly little coffee maker, no fridge and no guest laundry to name a few things that you would expect to be better.

Numerous issues! A/C substandard in two rooms!Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: The only thing I liked about this hotel was the location close to Chinatown and friendly staff. Everything else sucked.
Cons: Hilton should stop trying to squeeze every last square foot out of space and make customers happy with standard bathroom sizes and A/C that works.
Location: Chinatown and Union Square. Only 1 restaurant in this premium location.
I stayed here because it was location for Society for American Archaeology conference. When I first arrived in the room it was warm and muggy. It felt between 76-78F. I turned the A/C on and bumped it down to 72F. I left for 4 hrs and returned. The room was still warm. Also, no tub and an extremely small bathroom. You had to move outside of the bathroom to open the shower door. The phone on the desk did not work (yes, it was plugged in) and the drawers in the dresser would not stay shut. One of the drawers was sticking out half-way. I used a package of coffee to wedge it shut so I wouldn't bang my knee on it. This is a HILTON! in SAN FRANCISCO! I finally had enough and called the front desk from the bed phone. They offered to move me to a new room and I complied; but of course it is a huge pain to move all your stuff once your settled in. I moved to second room and it had a slightly bigger bathroom and a tub (since I asked for one). However, the bathroom appeared bigger because the sink was tiny! Maybe 14" in depth? The vent in the bathroom was coated with dust and the shower had little pressure! The A/C in new room also did not cool adequately. The thermostat let you lower it to ~50 something but did not cool. I have a feeling that you cannot lower it below 70F in any of the rooms. Terrible cheap rooms! Architects trying to pack people in like sardines! Maze-like floor plan. Room # 3-1645? Are you kidding? My zip-code?

Toilet full of pubic hair and the seat dirty, like someone just went to the bathroom and made a mess on the seat

Great stay, hotel staff were very helpful with pointing out places to shop and eat. Kids enjoyed warm pool and spa.

bad neighborhood!Posted Apr 15, 2015
The hotel itself was fine. But the location is so close to the Tenderloin that it is sketchy at best. A drug addict begged for money from us in the hotel bar and prostitutes propositioned us every night walking back to the hotel from Union Square. They need to clean this up before I would ever stay here again.
