Awful Place

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
I booked two nights here, but could not take the terrible conditions. Very small room, paper thin walls allowing sounds from other rooms. Old, outdated furniture and bed. Poor ventilation - ceiling fan above bed. No staff on duty after 3 PM. When I arrived at 4 PM note on front of building said to look in the mail box for instructions. A sheet of paper in the box gave me my room number and said room was unlocked with keys for me inside. Telephone number was given to call for any other info needed. No security on premises. Buyers beware about this place. Expedia truly disappointed me on this purchase.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We are a laid back small and unique property located near the beach in an exclusive area of million dollar homes.

Walk like 7 minutes

I do not recommend this place. When I got there they sent me to other place that was not Lido Islander. I will not book again there.

You stayed in one of our Studios apartments, which are indeed a few blocks away, but yet still close to the beach and the shops on St. Armands Circle.

Nifty Florida efficiency.

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Free parking, nice interior details, old fashioned style with updates, comfy bed, kitchenette. Lots of TV channels.
Cons: I would provide a few more cups and some cleaner like PineSol. All we had was Dawn. Floor had not been mopped before we came. Dishwasher kaput.
Location: Beach access, Ringling Museum and residence, speedboat races during July 4 weekend, botanical gardens, good restaurants, St. Armand's shops nearby.
I booked this little efficiency for my husband and me to enjoy the beach and city of Sarasota. It was a bit farther from the Gulf than I thought, since there is only sporadic public access to the beach. Condos and hotels have snagged a lot of the shoreline. However, the place itself was nicely maintained and cleverly decorated in a chic coastal laid-back way. Kind of like a more freestanding hotel suite. There is a pool and you can wash your clothes in a coin laundry next to the pool. The patio is shaded and private. The room rate for early July was reasonable.

Great Price, Great Place, Location Amazing

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Comforts of home, proximity to beach and St. Armands.
Cons: Second Supply Cabinet for upstairs guests like us. Repaint outside, Such a cute place but could use some exterior love. Parking was tight some nights.
Location: Beach is 1 block, St. Armands Circle 3 blocks or 1 min by car, siesta key 25 mins, long boat key 8-10 mins, Annamaria Island 45-60 mins
We were a little nervous with the unorthodox set up of this place. Pick your key up in a mailbox? no lobby? No worries. Although its unusual from the time we arrived till we left we had an amazing stay. The location is bar none the best in the area. The rooms are clean and beachy. You have all the comforts of home while away. Although there is no lobby, the property manager is onsite everyday with one other person from am-afternoon. Both very lovely ladies and very accommodating. The patio area has a propane grill which we enjoyed several times. Before you leave, you must tidy your room or face a surcharge, truly not much to ask for in this great space. Rooms were spacious and clean, kitchens had everything you need. Walks were short and the area is filled with tons of great places. All around great place to stay. We will be back.

Squirrely but okay

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: On Expeida
Cons: Better shower pressure! I hate a tiny trickle of a shower!
Location: Lido Key beach!! So pretty, and the main shopping district was within walking distance!
This was such a strange little place!! The room itself was fine, the bed was comfy, it looked "beachy." But there was absolutely NO check in procedures or staff anywhere? When I arrived, I fought my way through a group a guys drinking beer on a stoop, and I was told to search through the mail box for my room assignment. The guys heckled me and said, "what are you doing in the mail?" I said, "I was told to look here?" LOL It was squirrely! And my room was connected to another family suit room. I could hear every conversation...so the room was not quiet. But it was fine for a place to hang my head at night. Great location, right near the beautiful Lido Key beaches, and the price was right too! Just don't expect any guest services. I'd stay here again if you're on a budget in Sarasota.

Pros: Any supplies (towels, soap, linens, etc.) are available - you don't have to ask the personnel to get it.
Cons: They might want to upgrade sofa bed in the living room, and the tub didn't look pretty
Location: The beach is 10 min away by walking. Nice shopping plaza in 5 min driving.
The beach is really close by. You can cook - there's a kitchen in a 1 bedroom suite. Nice area, BBQ spot, parking.

Cute, very small rooms

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Cost and cleanliness
Cons: Heavier door between rooms. More attempt to get people to use patio?
Location: Short walk to St. Armands. Short drive to the beach.
Fine if you need a place to sleep. The bed takes up the whole room, which is fine if all you want to do is sleep. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The problem is the layout. We were fine the first night, but then several couples who knew each other and were in town for a wedding showed up and overnight noise was a real issue. They have a well posted quiet after 11 policy, but nobody's around to enforce it. Even though there was a cute little patio away a bit, with tables and a bbq, at night, people didn't use it. Also, the door between our room and the next room (ensuite option) was very flimsy... like a bathroom door with a little lock. Made us a little nervous. Price was right. Short walk to St. Armands. Cute, very small rooms.

close to beach!

Posted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
We chose this hotel because it was super close to the beach (& fairly inexpensive)! We stayed in a smaller room with a queen (we understand there are bigger suites), for just one night but it was perfect. Comfortable, beautiful beach decor, a fridge, closet, & clean bathroom with a full-sized tub/shower. We'll definitey stay again!

This place was perfect for us. We were able to walk to the circle and walk to the beach. A small room but we never spent much time in there. Also had a fridge and microwave. I would stay again
