Not pet friendly

Posted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: Great location
Cons: Read above
Location: Lots of restaurants near by
We booked this hotel because, it was a "host" hotel for South Windsor kennel club dog show. The first this we read in the office upon checking in " we no longer accept dogs" they charged us a non -refundable $50 pet fee. They did offer an iron or iron board because we had a pet. I had to "borrow" one from another room. When we checked out I was asked if I cleaned up my room because I had a pet. I can gaurentee that my pet is cleaner than some people that would be staying in this hotel. We will not be staying there next year.

Decent enough for the price

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: The owners are clearly trying to improve the property and that shows. They were helpful and friendly.
Cons: The mattresses were not very good and could be upgraded.
Location: Close to many Springfield attractions: Basketball Hall of Fame, Six Flags New England, Springfield Armory.
This motel was going through exterior renovations during our stay. So it really didn't look great on the outside but they're obviously trying to improve the property. You can tell it's an older place but that they've gone through and updated a lot of it. Our room was clean and had a granite bath surround and granite countertop in the bathroom. It had a HDTV and free HBO. So they're trying to make the place at least a notch above average. Some of the misses were that the bathroom door stuck - you needed a lot of force to close it properly. The AC was a newer unit but it took a long time to cool down the room so it wasn't appropriately sized. There were only 2 small thin bath towels, 2 plastic cups, no Kleenex, 2 cheap soap & 2 shampoo packets. The owners did give us an extra 2 towels when we checked in (we were 2 adults & 2 children) and extra pillows and blankets when asked. My point in bringing all this up is that they don't seem to keep up with the small details that can make a place seem nicer. Large thick towels are always a nice touch. Annoyances such as the bathroom door just shouldn't happen.

We requested an early checkin, arrived at 1 pm and the room was ready. All over a clean and correct place.

Hotel is close by six flags

Posted Aug 3, 2014
The hotel was pretty comfortable but me and my partner did not like the fact that our television was in bad conditions and the owners of the hotel were not willing to change our room for free. In fact, we were questioned for a while about whether or not we smoked as we were checking in . The attendant continued to look at my boyfriend wrong and told him he looked like a smoker ; I didn't find that to be right !

A good value.

The motel was in the middle of a renovation, perhaps that is why the rate seemed low in comparison to others. Even so, our room was clean and also very large for a motel. The staff was friendly. It was a good value. I would stay there again.

This is a very basic no frills hotel. It is decent for the price and location. Some items are well worn ie. towels but overall it was fine. I liked our room being in the so.gale level.building and close to the office for morning coffee.

If you want a low cost hotel that is clean

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: the atmosphere provided by the management really made us feel welcome. We liked the low price, how clean it was, and the great location.
Cons: the big improvement will come when the outside is completed. Right now it looks like a construction zone but it did not bother us in our stay.
Location: I is only blocks from the largest mall in Springfield which includes a 15 screen 3D theater and many restaurants.
This motel is under serious renovation inside and out. You can see it when you drive up. Our room was clean and newly renovated except for carpeting. The manager said that it will be replaced as soon as the outside renovation is done. The place is clean and low cost, great location near restaurants and large shopping malls. the manager is willing to discount his price if you call ahead. Management really wants to please. Breakfast was minimal and limited, but bakery goods were surprisingly great. It is not luxury but is a great place to stay. We will be back.

False info

Pros: Nice temperature control in room.
False information in write up about hotel. "Continental Breakfast" nonexistent on Saturday morning. Only coffee and orange juice on Sunday morning.
