"The castle is dramatic in it's contruction and the tour well worth the time. The hotel is part of the fort itself and is old and charming. Some rooms are being updated, but ours was already good. Staff friendly and efficient. Parking easy."

"The building was of a good standard but the hotel lacked the friendly approach to their guests. On arrival at 16.30 we found the door locked and had to wait for it to be opened. The hotel listed a restaurant but no evening meal was available. There was no information on times of breakfast or restaurants nearby. Although the hotel is in a beautiful location the hotel totally lacked character. "

The room was quiet and clean, with a level of amenity to be expected. The highlight of the stay was the meal in the hotel restaurant - freshly cooked, local influence and great value.
