The Fitzpatrick Grand Central has become my New York hotel.

The fact that the Fitzpatrick Grand Central is now where I stay whenever I am in New York says it all.

A fine place

The room was nice. The staff was very helpful. We booked for two nights but had to leave after only one due to a Nor’Easter coming in. They had NO problem with refunding for the second night(Thank You) We are looking forward to another visit to NYC and hope to stay again.

Lovely hotel in great location

We had a wonderful stay at the Fitzpatrick. Extremely comfortable bed, very quiet location. Lots of added treats: bottled spring water and chocolates every evening, and after four days, complimentary slippers. Bonus is small fridge in room. Housekeeping staff was absolutely terrific, and front desk and maintenance very obliging. Location is fabulous -- right across the street from Grand Central Station. Only minus is that pub on premises isn’t very good as a restaurant; however, when you’re in Manhattan it doesn’t really matter. There are great restaurants everywhere. Although we were initially disappointed that the king bed wasn’t available, we chose to stay in a lovely queen-size room and had a great week. Will definitely go back!

Great Experience

This was our first time staying at the Fitzpatrick, but it won’t be our last. Great location, block and half to Grand Central, nice walk to Fifth, great staff, lovely rooms and the bathrooms were extra special for New York. Discovered the outdoor restaurant/bar on the last afternoon and it was really nice. It was a great experience all the way around.

great little hotel in NYC

I really liked this place: great location, reasonable rate, very nice staff and good sized room. There was plenty of space in the bathroom; small fridge; nice closet; in room safe and flat screen TV. Amazingly quiet yet close to everything. My only (small) complaint was that the grout in the shower was kind of nasty. But otherwise I loved it...definitely will go back.

A gem in the middle of midtown!!

If you like smaller, less "touristy" hotels, the Fitzpartrick is for you! Fabulous location; helpful staff; clean rooms, albeit small. Would definitely re-book on our next trip.

Hotel restaurant tends to be expensive. Just walk crosstown and you’ll come across street vendors where you can get cheaper breakfast and lunch! Use subway system for everything! (right across street)

Loved it, will stay again !!!

This hotel was great!! It was half a block from Grand Central Station, 5-6 blocks from Time Square, Couldn’t ask for more. Now, the room is a little small, but when you’re there long enough to sleep, who needs a big room. The bed was a great nites sleep. It does need a dresser or chest of drawers but we are already looking to next year and staying here again. We love the Irish pub (my husbands heritage) and you can get everywhere in no time at all. Pease, try it out, especially if you want to get away from it all(and your kids :).

Quiet Hotel

The hotel is quaint, the rooms and bathroom are a little on the small side, that is the worst I can say about it. The most important thing is that it was quiet-quiet-quiet. The hotel is on a small cross street half a block from the Grand Central Station. As such there was light traffic and a very nice experience. After spending the day in the hustle and bustle of New York, it was nice to get back to. It has a quaint pub with a good breakfast, we will stay there again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Right by Grand Central Station that has some good restaurants, trains and subway, pharmacy close by, 15 minute walk or short cab ride to Times Square.

Impressive Boutique Atmoshpere

Upon arrival, a friendly doorman was available to greet us and help with just about anything we needed. Front desk was efficient and courteous. Housekeeping was the best, so respectful and professional. Our room, while quite small, was immaculate. Bathroom was beautiful black and white tile with nice touches such as robes and upscale personal products. Bed was a pillow-topped king, more comfortable than my own bed. Even an umbrella was provided for use during the stay. Location is quiet, but convenient to Grand Central Station right across the street. The outdoor patio was lovely for drinks in the evening. My only disappointments were the lack of an ice bucket and accessibility to ice, and no washcloths. Regarding the reservation, it required some attention - I wanted to emphasize preference for a king bed and the agent said it was not available with online reservations. I had to prove that the website stated it was, so knowledge and customer service could be improved at that desk. Overall, though, the experience at the hotel was excellent - highly recommend the Fitzpatrick!

Traveler's tip

Accessibility to everything via Grand Central Station is a big plus, yet the quiet neighborhood setting was a welcome retreat after a fun but hectic time in the city.

Absolutely Wonderful!

I chose this hotel after reading the many user reviews. I’m a flight attendant - so it’s hard to impress me. (I’ve stayed in so many hotels around the world.) My room was perfect and much bigger and nice than most that you’d get in New York for twice the price. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation.

Comfy & Convenient

More comfortable than home! The very best bed I have ever slept in. Perfect after a day of walking around New York. Bathroom clean and stocked with quality towels and sundries. Convenient to local attractions such as the Empire State Building, NY Public Library, and even the Met. Polite and helpful staff.

Great Bed

The bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep. The location is fantastic, too. We took a bus into NYC from NJ, and walked from the Port Authority to the hotel. Maybe a mile? Also, used Grand Central (literally across the street) for subway access when going uptown. Oh, and the window in the bathroom opened from the top - small, but a nice touch.

Small but fine

We requested a king bed, but got only a queen - room small enough that a king would not have fitted anyway! View overlooks all the other rooms in the hotel (an interior "square" of walls facing each other); but outside the hotel is the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Station - go there for views!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Go inside the Chrysler Building lobby and check out the ceiling

NY’s best hotel - charming and all about customer service

Had a fabulous weekend - stayed in a beautiful suite with flat panel TVs and the most comfortable bed - a feather bed. Would have liked to spend the entire weekend in the room however there was too much to see and do in NYC! The staff treated us like the pictures of royalty found on the walls near the lobby. Would not go elsewhere in NY with the 100’s of hotels to choose from -

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

From the DC area - skip the train and take the Vamoose bus - $25 one way and same amount of travel time.
