Not my first choice

Stayed here on of a business trip. The Hilton is a massive complex of various high-rises (I was in the Diamond Head Tower). The bed was extremely comfortable. Only downside was hearing the karaoke and bands at the Tapa Bar at night when trying to sleep. Fortunately, this shut down by 11:00 p.m. Other negative was no coffee machine in the room. Otherwise, everything else about the room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

My return to Hawaii, after 34 years.

After 34 years I returned to Oahu, except this time for vacation. I had been there while my husband was stationed at Hickam. Our stay at the hotel was nice, I only wish we would have chosen an oceanside view, but it was still nice. The hotel was so beautiful and and the nightly entertainment at the lounge was so relaxing, I enjoyed the music and thought about how it had been years back, when we lived there. I plan to go back and stay at the Hawaiian Hilton again. Thank you for making my return pleasant. ALOHA

Take the $2.00 shuttle and visit International Market Place and go do your souvenir shopping at the stadium on Wednesday. Take plenty of money and enjoy.

Best Hotel room I ever stayed in!!

The room was beatiful. I had Ocean view even though I paid for a stand room. Lots of thing to do in Hotel. Beach was great. Everone was very helpful. I can’t wait to go back.

The resturants were all very good and there were a lot to chose from. Most were very resonable. The International food court was very good for a quick lunch.

LOVED IT!!!!! GREAT FAMILY HOTEL!

We went to Oahu for our honeymoon/familymoon. We brought our 2 1/2 year old daughter. We booked the hotel room with a normal view nothing crazy thinking we were not going to be in the room to much during our week stay. WEll when we arrived and checked in we were told we got bumped up to a ocean view with no charge! and the next day me and my daguhter got the flu so we were in our room ALOT. but the view was amazing. WE stayed in the Kalia tower, whihc is the farthest tower, but we saw everything going on (friday nights they have fireworks), Its literally a village. we rarly left the hotel village. Its about a 2 min walk from our tower to the pools and beachs. But our tower had its own pool! we went from our 10th floor to the 4th floor and there was the pool. there are a bunch of restaurants and even a ice cream shop in the villlage. room service was great! ecspecailly with a child in the room. the service was also nice. Down side: parking is horribly expensive per night, I would never of rented a car if i knew of that nor if i knew we would barly leave the hotel village. As well as outside of the village it was a little to downtown for me. but no biggie. This is also a great hotel for children. There are ducks and dozens of fish in the many ponds, there are even penguins and flamigos!!!! i was amazed!...WE stayed in early October and the weather was amazinlgy beautiful and hote!!!!Overall we would stay again and again.

the Outriggers Snorkal and Sail trip was amazing. AS well as renting your own snokal equipment else were and snrokling in Haunama Bay

WILL STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN

The hotel was beautiful. From the moment we checked in at the front desk, the staff was extremely accomadating. We stayed in the Rainbow tower with a lanai that faced the beach. We watched fire-dancers and fireworks from our lanai on Friday night. The valet parking staff was very friendly and knew us by name by the second day. Our daughter lives in Honolulu, so we try to visit as often as possible. I believe we will be staying at the Hilton Village every visit.

If you enjoy snorkeling, go to Hanauma Bay. You can snorkel over some beautiful reefs right off the beach. No need to go very far out. The beach is beautiful and well kept. There are volunteers to answer any questions you have about the fish you will see. It’s a very relaxing way to spend the day.

Well thought out

My family and I were visiting the islands for a National Convention. We selected this hotel for proximity and well known standards. I was nervous initially due to the fact that they have so many towers, and I was concerned of being stuck in a not-so-ideal room because we didn’t pay a premium for our stay. Luckily, the room we got pretty much met our needs, we made the most of our stay at the hotel. The beach was spacious and shallow enough for us to feel comfortable to swim in, the pools were cool, and fun for our son to have the time of his life. Hotel dining is kinda up there, but it’s convenient and still good. All staff from front desk to grounds keeping, they know their stuff and all about the hotel & island for recommendations. It was annoying that some of the prime restaurants on site required reservations, since we’re from the mainland we wanted to dine when our bodies were hungry which was 4 hours earlier than when they opened. We also didn’t like that there were surcharges for using the in-room safe, internet use in our room during our 5 day stay was about 3 months of internet fee charge at home. Using their excercise rooms use to be accessible, but you have to pay a fee there too. Then again, I heard a lot of hotels are starting to do that.

Make reservations the first day you get on the island for the fine restaurants you plan on dining at. Do it before your trip, to make sure.

Nice property but too expensive for what you received

The hotel is lovely and in a great location. Near Waikiki but not right in the thick of the chaos. The reason we booked the hotel is for the kids’ activities. They had activities but they were incredibly overpriced. Given that we didn’t have a great room rate, it was very surprising to have to pay for beach chairs. Charging rental fees for the surfboards and other water sports was fine but the rates were unreasonable. So, we could have stayed elsewhere for a lower room rate because we did not avail of the water activities. The rooms were nice and the property was beautiful but housekeeping didn’t seem to clean the bathrooms very well. I didn’t think that the tub was cleaned everyday nor was the floor cleaned as there were stains around the toilet bowl. Toilet was cleaned very superficially. Still a nice holiday but may not return to this property.

Do yourself a favor and try this resort!

This was a great experience. We had a room in the Ali’i town 2nd floor and had access to a private pool, hot tub and workout facility right out our back patio. The room was a good size with 2 doubles (So comfortable) and a pull out sofa. There was a mini fridge for use that was helpful for your own food and beverages since prices in Hawaii can be expensive after while. The separate changing room was great since we had four people in our group. The resort is great being right on the beach but the benefit ended up being the resorts location on Waikiki. It is a little further down from a lot of the other hotels so you are not as crowded for space as you would be near the other hotels beaches. There are plenty of shops and restaurants on the resort to choose from. The ABC store on the resort will be your lifesaver for tourist gifts and regular supplies. I could keep going on and on about how great the experience was but I want you to experience some of this for yourself. Just do yourself a favor and give it a shot. I don’t think you will be disappointed. One last thing I would say is get up once and watch the sunrise. You may be up at that time anyway adjusting to the time change.

The ABC stores in Hawaii are like Walgreens. They are everywhere and you can get regular suppies and gifts for home you need. The prices are right and at the time they had a deal if you brought in $100 worth of receipts you get a free gift. I took home two 2010 calanders.

Less than expected

Minimal room. No coffee. Expensive internet. Out of hot water so had a cool shower two mornings ( out of 6 ). Old chairs. Good bed. Cheap TV. Had mini-fridge under sink. Lousy balcony view even paid for partial ocean. Not noisy at night and no kids running around. Good amount and speed of elevators. Ok pools but chairs sparsely available at the big pool. Definitely living off the Hilton name brand.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Little shop in lobby, Whaler’s, gives a card you get filled out for every $5 you spend. Get a free gift or two easy.

Spectacular view

We stayed in room 3105. It was a view that can’t be topped anywhere on the planet. The food was good. The pool bar and bartenders are the best. Shopping is unbeleivable

Very happy with my stay.

Was plenty to do there without leaving the resort. Very relaxing. Lots of activities on the beach. Bring plenty of clothes so you don’t have to wash. There are no washers and I paid $9 for them to wash 1 pair of jeans. They have no microwaves. I find this hard to believe since I paid so much to stay. But it was still worth it.

Traveler's tip on dining

Good food there and great environment but expensive. There’s a subway within walking distance.

Rainbow Tower, Diamond Head View is a MUST!

It was our first lover’s get-a-way and his first time in Hawaii. First two nights, we had an Ocean View/Lagoon room in the Rainbow Tower. When you get off the elevator, you see the view of Diamond head from the windows, and right away, we knew we should have just opted of the Ocean Front/Diamond Head view. We were able to upgrade our room with ease our last two nights. We also loved how the HHV had it’s own private entry way to the beach! For sure will be back as soon as we can!!

Very nice but bring lots of money.

The hotel is within a complex of hotels near the beach. Everything you might want is right there. It’s expensive. Be prepared to pay a lot to park there. This was an unexpected expense I didn’t know about.

Overall thoughts on room

Overall the stay was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The village itself is beautiful and convient for shopping and eating out. The only negatives were internet access charges and parking charges.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Make sure to visit Diamond Head, the view is breath taking and waimea falls (waterfall).

Hi quality low cost

We were there on what amounted to a layover (short time). We enjoyed the shops, stroll at night around the lagoon. Rental car parking was easy. Room was sspacious and very well appointed and a moderate price for a top end hoitel. Mo
