Omni LA

On the top of Bunker Hill, a block from the Disney Theater, the Omni is convenient to what passes for downtown LA. Nice views over the city and the San Gabriels beyond. Comfortable room, fine service, good dining options, well-equipped fitness center.

The hotel was clean & staff nice but troom service was poor.

When I was unpacking a maid entered the room without knocking and entered the bathroom to "check something." There were no wash clothes in the bathroom. I had to call three times before they were brought to my room, approximately 15 minutes after my first call. The hair drier broke. I called twice. A replacement had not arrived after 20 min. I called & told them I had to go to an engagement, just leave the replacement in the bathroom. I went to my engagement with wet hair. The hotel made up for the inconvenience by not charging me for the pretzels and orange juice that I had taken from the room "bar"!

Great location. A block for L.A. Music Center and Disney Concert Hall, adjacent to the Musuem of Contemporary Art and a music school and near restaurants and other cenral city amenities

Best place to stay ...

I am very happy choose this hotel over the other choices in the same neighborhood. In walking distance with music center, business district and LA MOCA. room was large enough with very comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean and all the fixtures was working proper. Front desk staff were very polite, helpful and professional. Valet parking was quick. my only regret is about the Noe restuarant which is in the 3rd floor, their menu is not attractive. I am going to stay here again in my next trip to LA.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean and affordable

The hotel room was reasonably, priced, clean and in great condition. I was warned on other reviews about the parking fee of $30, but that can be expected in L.A. Comparatively speaking, the hotel restaurant is very expensive. We had to drive a few blocks to find a more reasonably-priced restaurant to dine at.

Very good overall

After staying at other hotels in the area when visiting family, we were very happy with the Omni. The service was great and the room and hotel were very nice. We will be staying there again next time.

good choice

Bit more expensive than other downtown locations, but it more than made up by being cleaner, friendlier, and more convenient.

There is a convenient store, Starbucks, and Panda Express on the next block which are open on the weekends.

Nice place to relax

I had a nice time at Omni Hotel at California Plaza. I asked for double beds but got one king size bed; I want to be on a low floor because I had an elder person with me. I email them early about this and when I arrive I was told I would be on the 14th or 15th floor and I said no. So, I was put on the 5th floor which was okay. As a whole this hotelis okay. However, it is away for things but it was close to the Staple Center and the fashion district, walking to above places is out of the question but as a whole it was nice.

Great stay but watch out for parking rates

The hotel was lovely as was the service. The only issue I had was the parking. Very pricey and as we had two cars, that was an unpleasant surprise at check-out time.

It was ok for such an expensive hotel

The staff was very accomadating. We didnt stay one night because we missed our connecting flight. The person that deals with those issues was gone the enitre weekend. And no one else could fix the problem so we had to wait. In the end we did our money back but after numerous call and alot of waiting. And there is only valet parking too. So its nice you can leave your car when you get there, but it can be a long wait to get it back. Especially when there are weddings and conferences (when I went there were both).

Very Nice Hotel...Parking just expensive

I stayed there about 3 weeks ago with husband and 2year old. Hotel is very accomadating, nice clean and comfortable. parking is just pricey $30 a day...I would reccommend if you want to save money just park down the street about 1 block $8 day during the week and $5 day during the weekend...Hotel is worth the money!!!

nice hotel

Vey nice hotel, although its dead in the area after 4pm weekdays and ghost town on the weekend. The car service is the best, you’ll need it. They do need to update their tv’s.

Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in LA

My stay at The Omni was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and helpful and the room was spectacular. As a single woman, I felt safe and pampered. I would absolutely stay there any time I am in LA and would look for other Omni Hotels in other cities.

Best Value, solid 4.5 star accommodation in downtown LA

Why 4.5 star? Love the spa-like lobby which welcomes you with icy fruit-flavored water! Love the free private Cadillac Sedan shuttle service! Super friendly staff! The bed itself is a bit high but the bedding and pillows are very comfortable - they actually give you 2 soft comforters to choose from! Decor in the rooms may need updating. Nevertheless, it’s super clean and well maintained. The missing 0.5 star - You can hear traffic noise even when the operable windows are closed. The HVAC is kind of loud too.

Free in-room wifi internet and free morning paper and juice when you sign up as "Select Guest" thru Omni’s web site.

love it

The Omni is in downtown LA and centrally located for whatever plans you might have. We found it very convenient for our trip to the nearby collisseum and other venues we were attending. The Omni is a clean, classy and modern hotel. We like the lighting and the foyer. The rooms are very clean and the bed in particular is incredibly comfortable. They also provide lots of bathroom freebies: toothpaste, shave foam, as you’d expect from a Japanese hotel. It’s a little like an improved version of the nearby Marriot. I would choose it every time!

good hotel at a reasonable price

overall the hotel is very nice, very friendly people. make sure to register a free online omni member account to receive all the member benefit (free drinks in the morning, free newspaper....).

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

parking is 30.00 per day, however there are public parking close by for 14-16 dollars per visit. the hotel also provide courtesy ride service, very good to get from one place to another in the downtown area. (parking in downtown is very expansive, anywhere from 8 to 12 dollars)

Great Stay

The hotel was simply lovely. The staff was first rate, and my room was spacious and nicely appointed. The food was delicious but the main restaurant was a little pricey even for LA. Though the hotel is in the financial district, and very much "downtown", the proximity to the Museum of Modern Art was a nice surprise, and the availability to access a convenience store, and a Starbucks was terrific. There is a nice area for walking where I felt safe and secure.

Fine, fine, fine

Overall a pretty decent place to stay downtown. Was shocked that when I pulled up and started taking my own bags out of the trunk, no valet came to help. Kind of just watched. Oh well, if you don’t want a tip....
