Love this hotel because it is an upscale hotel at discount price. The service is amazing and the location is ideal.

Good Times Square hotel

Great hotel if you want to stay on Times Square. Very convenient, good size rooms. My only complaint was that neither Expedia not The Muse notified me that there was major construction going on next door. Both Saturday and Sunday they started drilling at 7am.

Always First Choice

I have stayed in Kimpton Hotels in different cities. The beds are the best! (So much so...you can buy them on their website.) The rooms are clean, the staff friendly. Highly recommended.

It was our first trip to New York City and we were concerned about getting good quality hotel for a reasonable (midwestern-like) price. We were very impressed with The Muse and would recommend this hotel. Top notch service and very comfortable room with a spa-like feel. We’ll be back.

Loved It! Highly Recommend The Muse

Went for a girl’s weekend with one other friend. We had a wonderful time. Hotel 1/2 a block from Times Square--just far enough! You will hear noise from the street starting very EARLY! Staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Willie in Bell Service was wonderful! Hotel restaurant food a little pricey, but hey, it’s Manhattan. Get downstairs early enough for the free coffee and danish, otherwise expect to pay $7 for a cup from the restaurant.

The Muse New York is Perfect!

Me and my husband went to New York for my 40th birthday and stayed at the Muse New York. It was the perfect hotel. The location is right around the corner from Times Square and within walking distance to several popular places in New York. The staff were very friendly and always greeted us. The room is good size and very clean and the bathroom is quite large. I highly recommend this hotel and next trip I will stay here again. I love New York and the Muse made it even more special. Will definetly be back to The Muse New York! I give it 5 stars!

Be sure to eat at Carmine’s, Junior’s Cheesecake and Rosie O’Gradys Restaurant, all were delicious. Take the Gray Line Doubledecker bus All Loops Tour to see the sights of New York, well worth the money. Go to Magnolia’s Bakery & Crumbs Bake Shop and get dessert, delicious!!

The Muse is really the perfect place to stay in NYC. Having lived in NYC for 10 years, I knew exactly where I wanted to be - a place in the middle of the city, but a place that was also quiet. The Muse is it. You are a few blocks from Times Square and Grand Central Station. Every subway line is within walking distance, and their are great places to eat at every corner. The staff was amazing and accommodating and the rooms were spotless, large, and so comfortable. The only 2 issues that I had were A. As a Kimpton member my daughter was supposed to be given a gift that she never got (and unfortunately knew about) and the restaurant breakfast was not very good but very over priced. Not too big a deal though in the grand picture. The Muse is great and affordable and I we will certainly be returning!

This is a very family friendly hotel and you can also bring pets. If you are traveling with kids and need a night of downtime you can reguest a DVD player to be brought to your room. It’s free! Also, park next door instead of at the hotel and save 10 dollars!

Great Higher End Hotel

Great Hotel in a great location. Stayed here with my wife and two teenagers. Hotel staff was helpful and the hotel itself was modern with comfortable beds in a fantastic location for exploring NY. I will definitely stay here again for both business and pleasure!

Over the Top

The rooms in New York are notoriously small, however our room was very spacious for New York. We had a full bath with plenty of room to move around. The wine reception is great and the lobby, comfortable. There is a great bar there as well, with friendly bartenders and waitstaff. I was truly impressed. The hotel is located at Times Square, which can be trying with so many people, but we just exited toward 6th Ave instead. Great central location for subway travel.

Small rooms, but large bathrooms

The location of the hotel is perfect if you plan going to the theatre. Otherwise, I would stay elsewhere as it’s only half a block from the Times Square, so the area is very busy and touristy. Our room was VERY small, the size of the hotel room you usually get in Europe, but the bathroom was a good size. They need to add more toiletries selection as there was no shower gel or extra soap provided. Also, since there’s no little hallway in the room - you open the door and you almost bump into bed - the noise in hallways can be a bother. Other that, the staff was polite and helpful and wine tasting in the lobby in the afternoon was a nice touch.

Great value

Our room was huge by NY standards and well appointed. The staff was exceptionally friendly and we had a great time in the lounge. The central location was ideal for ease of access for daytime activities and nightlife.

Excellent Hotel

The Hotel was a warm, contemporary style. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice size with very comfortable beds. I would definitely go back. Great location one block from Times Square!!

Times Square is one block away, short walk to Central Park or Empire State Building. One block from 5th Avenue or Rockefeller Center!!

I’ll stay at Kimpton’s

I went for a family vacation at the Muse in NYC, and it was the perfect haven to come back to after a long day of doing touristy things. The rooms are wonderful and comfortable. The designs of the hotel is pretty unique too. The staff are excellent, especially the front desk - very accomodating. I’d definitely stay here again if i had the chance. One thing that i noted and marveled at was the fact that you could ask the front desk for things you can’t get at other hotels! If you forgot your toothbrush, shaver, or even hair straightener, you can just call them and they’ll bring it to you for free!(tho there is a small fee for some stuff). Fabulous!

What a great find in the city. Much more intimate than a big chain.

The room was clean. Everything you needed was right there. The wine hour was a great way to unwind. The staff was knowledgeable about places to go, eat, etc. They were helpful, friendly and were actually pleased to see you.

This is right in the heart of the theater district. We did not take advantage of a show, but it is convenient to all parts of the city if you are interested in sight seeing or shopping. Just a great overall location in the heart of NYC.

Feel Pampered!

The accomodations are pristine. The service and friendliness of staff makes you feel as if you are the only guest. Beds are incredible. Location, location, location! Easy access to everything but especially the theater district.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The bellhops will steer you to the best(not necessarily the most expensive) places to eat and they will help you get around town with great directions. Don’t be afraid to get to know them. They are a great source of information and fun to talk to!

Definitively I will return to this hotel once again.

I stayed with my wife for nearly a week and although the hotel was under repairs, the ambience was very nice. The room was impeccable, clean, cleverly arranged and decoration was lovely art deco. Clerks, bell boys, clean people, always were attentive and carried a smile while giving us the proper treatment. It is one block from Time Square, but you can hardly perceived it in your room, but you can just walk a few step and be in the most hectic place in the world. Nice and pretty this hotel.

A great deal

This hotel was perfectly located for my business trip and the prices were much lower than the usual selection for standard business travel hotels. The gym is small but open 24 hours. Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 rating: Front desk called my room at 130am because someone wanted to come up. The person only gave them a room number, not a name. If they would’ve asked for the guest’s name the person wanted to see, I would not have been woken up at such an hour. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Just try to get a room on a higher floor to avoid the street noise.

Don’t book this hotel

Despite the great central location, 1/2 block from Times Square and Theatre District, The Muse Hotel was my worst experience while staying in Manhattan. The noise from street is loud, as the hotel does not have double glazing windows (46th Street is used by all kind of delivery trucks, debris, etc). We had to ask 3 times to move to a quieter room in the back of the hotel. Rooms are very small (if you insist to book due to location, do not go for an Executive King room, they are more expensive and usually located in the noisier side facing 46th St) and the hotel lobby was on a noisy renovation (really obnoxious as there was no warning notice in the hotel website).

Great Choice

This hotel is very convenient to Times Square. We were there for New Years and it was a great choice. The hotel is very nice, quiet and our room had a pretty good view. Staff was great. The only drawback was that the restaurant was being remodeled so there is no where to really hang out at the hotel, but you don’t really go to NYC to hang out in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
