![This ironstone church dates back to the 11th century and was restored in 1805 and 1874. There is a western tower, nave, chancel, vestry, and south porch. The west tower is Saxo-Norman, the ironstone being very weathered. The top part is 15th century, having a plain parapet with 19th-century pinnacles. There are three bells. The tower was restored in 2011. The tower arch is tall and was restored in the 1500s. The Royal coat of arms above it dates from post 1837, and is made of cast metal. Most of the rest of the church dates from the 1874 rebuilding with some mediaeval masonry retained. On the outside of the chancel wall is an early 12th century panel with various geometrical decorations. The fittings are all 19th-century, and the floor is paved with Minton tiles. The small organ is by Cuthbert of Hull from 1877. “I thought the breakfast was fine. Lots of options for a full or light meal. I had fruit & porridge which was delicious. Husband said his fruit, yogurt and toast was fine. Choices of teas, coffees etc. Others appeared to be enjoying theirs as well. Eating and food area spotless as was the hotel overall. We have not stayed there before but will do so next time we travel. It was worth the money.”

“I had a good stay at the Castle Hotel. Lovely little hotel, super comfy bed and gorgeous bed linen. The room was spotless and generous tea and coffee making facilities. Nice bathroom products. No A/C as it's a beautiful old building, but that was fine as was able to open windows and control the radiator. I didn't have a cooked breakfast but buffet options were fine and the other guests seemed to be enjoying their cooked food. I will stay again, thank you.”

![This ironstone church dates back to the 11th century and was restored in 1805 and 1874. There is a western tower, nave, chancel, vestry, and south porch. The west tower is Saxo-Norman, the ironstone being very weathered. The top part is 15th century, having a plain parapet with 19th-century pinnacles. There are three bells. The tower was restored in 2011. The tower arch is tall and was restored in the 1500s. The Royal coat of arms above it dates from post 1837, and is made of cast metal. Most of the rest of the church dates from the 1874 rebuilding with some mediaeval masonry retained. On the outside of the chancel wall is an early 12th century panel with various geometrical decorations. The fittings are all 19th-century, and the floor is paved with Minton tiles. The small organ is by Cuthbert of Hull from 1877.
