"A very nice property although a bit run down, need of update including furnitures, we arrived late in the evening and found it very cold room we had to turn electric fire on and left it on right through the night, the food is average, no local shops near by, so you will need tuk tuk, staff are great, friendly and very helpful. "Think Fresh Prince of Bell Air, Think Jetwings Bungalow. Sanath is your very own Uncle Geoff, there's very little that man can't do. Food is impeccable, service is attentive and the setting is of a colonial home. It truly is nostalgia magnified."

"The room and balcony were excellent. I particularly liked the tea-making facilities in the room. The quality and selection of food in the evening and breakfast buffets was also very good, and the staff if anything were too attentive. Check-in was very lengthy but we appreciated the hot chocolate while we waited. The worst thing about the hotel is its location, about 3 miles from town. Even though we stayed over the Sinhalese new year, the whole place was strangely lacking in atmosphere -...

"Stayed here for 1 night but it was absolutely delightful! The staff was very hospitable, the amenities were great, location of the hotel relative to the touristy attractions was fantastic.
The breakfast was a la carte but on point, room was decent sized and clean too. Gave us nothing to complain about. 9/10 and would highly recommend."

"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. It's a quiet location, with stunning rooms - which is a welcome change if you're staying mostly in guest houses or big resorts. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect, and the sounds and smells of nature were great - if you like the sound of birds chirping, this is a place for you. There's one tree with tons of them (they said 1,000 but I couldn't wrap my...

"Chiran our butler was so attentive to our every need, he made our stay at Oatlands so special. The property itself needs an upgrade, it is showing signs of wear and tear. Nearby St Andrews hotel is lovely to have a drink and dinner."

This hotel was the highlight of our trip. The property is located quite a ways from the main road, deep inside the jungle; however ‘going the extra mile’ is completely worth the experience. Upon arrival, the hotel staff greeted us with a ‘Welcome’ juice and checked us in our bungalow, which was located right next to the small river running by the hotel. The room is very spacious, with floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom is huge with both a shower and a jet pool. The environment is very...

This property was beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and attentive and accommodating. The room, the lounge, and the restaurant were unbelievably comfortable and well decorated. The pool area is gorgeous and the tea plantations surrounding the property made for the most amazing backdrop.

Absolutely beautiful and very comfortable stay, all due to Bernard's warmth, generosity and accommodating all of our needs. We are so happy that we spent time on the beautiful grounds in such a beautiful setting. Kudos to the chef who's dishes were truly amazing!

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Very good location in Nuwara Eliya. From check-in to check-out our stay was seamless. We are three friends who stayed for one night. In the morning we came down for a walk to find some food, but the staff greeted us saying they'd been waiting for us for breakfast, as it was included! And I'd forgotten something at breakfast, but when we came back from a morning walk they had it at the front desk and handed it to me. Everyone was so kind, would definitely...

Excellent hospitality by the staff and the hotel itself is clean and nice. Food from the in-house restaurant was pretty tasty and had a nice variety. Would definitely recommend this!

It appears to be an older hotel but it is quite charming. An easy walk to the city center or the waterfalls. Overall, we enjoyed our stay even on a rainy day.
