Beautiful hotel, peaceful…

Stayed in late November in the penthouse suite on a short trip, was travelling around the Caribbean with my girlfriend and spending few days in each island. we were at bequia before coming to canouan so the property was far better than the options available in bequia. for this kind of hotel, just stay inside the property, no need to travel outside the resort. it used to be a different resort before Mandrain acquired it. it has only suites or villas, all beautiful views. what we like about it : quiet, beautiful, peaceful, luxurious. what we did not like : butler was almost non existent, we stayed for 2 days only and he did say he is going away on holiday and mentioned he will leave the direct butler phone with another butler for us to contact him, we tried doing so several times and the phone was always off. communication was not clear, even there was a letter that was inviting us to a trip during our stay was placed in the living room table and we did not even see it, a staff member came to our room to escort us for the event and we told her we don't know what event she is talking about, she did not bother to explain and just left. preferably these notifications should be placed under the door, by the entrance or I have seen hotels attach it in a small leather case by the door handle to catch the attention of the resident. Check-in at the Kings Landing Hotel was a smooth process. The staff was kind and very helpful. Our room was basic, but it had hot water, air conditioning, a fridge, housecoats, and a double bed. The pool was clean, the water warm, and we were able to purchase our first Hairoun beer. The hotel is conveniently located in central Clifton, and is a short walk to the ferry. Immaculate, fresh and new, beautifully appointed…

This has to be one of my favorite vacation rentals. It was beautifully decorated, fresh flowers prepared by Ursula, lovely functional furnishings without the usual artificial flowers and cluttered decor. A large hammock on the veranda is a great amenity. The kitchen is stocked with all new equipment , baking sheets , pots and pans etc. The 2 ensuite master bedrooms had the best mattresses and linens of memory. Real linen bed covers and high count cotton sheets. Absolute perfection ! Ursula who tends to the house is also a neighbor, which was great ! I did rent the mule for the week which made exploring to every corner of this friendly island possible. Bertrand, house manager was so kind, accommodating and helpful. The day of my departure, Ursula saved the day ! I was scheduled on a flight at 5:30, causing me to miss the last ferry to Bequia. Ursula called a friend at the airport, Magic !!! All of a sudden there was a direct flight to Bequia in 2 hours ! Saved me a long day waiting around and overnighting in St. Vincent.The Owners of SUR UN NUAGE have a true gem here, the house and caretakers were fantastic ! I will happily return to this home and Union ! Oops ! Almost forgot to mention the fantastic views on all 3 sides ,wonderful breezes too !…This has to be one of my favorite vacation rentals. This is a budget hotel on a very small island, so adjust your expectations accordingly. The staff at the Clifton are extremely friendly and accommodating. They had my room ready for an 8am arrival. Breakfast was included and was well cooked and presented. I am a return guest because I found the hotel to be a good base for exploring the island.
