The Carlton Hotel itself is a nice property, but unfortunately, I wasn’t particularly impressed with my room.
The only two USB outlets in the room didn’t work, mildew/mold in the bathroom, and the sink faucet was so loose that it felt like it might break any minute. Those issues weren’t deal-breakers for me, and I could have lived with them.
What really surprised me, though, was the price when I decided to extend my stay by one additional night. I was quoted over $500 for one night, even though I had paid about $600 for my original THREE NIGHT stay.
Considering the problems with the room, I felt the hotel could have made some kind of allowance or offered a reasonable rate for the extra night. Unfortunately, they didn’t.
So, I ended up staying at an equal hotel just around the block for less than one-third of what the Carlton quoted me.
I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed. I expected better from the Carlton, especially given the issues with my room and the fact that I was already a guest.
