Cannot say enough about this property. Start to finish one of the most beautiful, best properties we have ever visited. Recommend without hesitation. Make sure you plan to eat there. Restaurant is as good as the view.

Loved our stay at the Crab & Boar, a quintessential English country inn. The staff is friendly, easygoing, quite helpful and even went above and beyond for us. Dave and Tammy were fantastic. The food was quite good. Prices seem reasonable. Drive to close by Newbury is a short distance. Very nice and handy Speedy Queen launderette in town. Quiet but for the occasional car whizzing by. We had a lovely stay at the Cotswald Gateway Hotel, the managing couple were very friendly and helpful as was all the staff. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Walk into town was lovely too! Perfect weekend !

Great location off M40, quick, convenient access to Turnhill Park & Ride making day trips to Oxford City Centre a breeze. Friendly, helpful staff. I would book here again.

This is an amazing property is perfect for a few days

I lived in England most of my life and never even knew this place existed. Researching some National Trust properties to visit discovered this hotel associated with Waddesdon Manor. What a gem of a find! We only stayed one night but could, and should, have stayed longer. The location is excellent and a short easy walk just across the fields to Waddesdon Manor which is a must visit in my view. Beautiful Buildings in a delightful small village. The grounds could do with more attention.

The staff her could not be more welcoming and come across as genuinely invested in your stay. The place can get a bit overwhelmed when a large event like the wedding fills bar and breakfast to the brim, but relaxed attitude and willingness to take it in stride get you a long way to not minding. There are inevitably some compromises to make when staying in an old property - and when I say old, I don’t mean 1970s and tired, but rather 12th century and historic.
