We stayed at Vivaz Cataratas for four nights in July 2026 as a family of four, with two children around age 10. Overall, the stay was decent, but the property did not live up to its price point.
The location is convenient: about 10 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from central Foz do Iguaçu, and roughly 30 minutes from the falls, depending on traffic. The grounds are attractive, and the indoor and outdoor pool areas were highlights.
Families should know that the water park is closed from May through September, so it was unavailable during our July stay. The children’s activities were not explained at check-in, and the check-in staff came across as alternately rude and overly obsequious rather than genuinely welcoming.
The rooms feel dated, cramped, and poorly designed for a family. The bathroom was especially small and not well maintained. At this price point, we expected more storage and a proper seating area. The doors provided almost no soundproofing, and running and screaming children in the hallway made the room very noisy.
Breakfast was quite poor, and the room-service food was similarly disappointing. While the hotel has a good location and pleasant pool areas, the dated rooms, noise, food, service, and limited amenities made the stay feel overpriced. We would not recommend this property to friends or family.
