"A real honor to be able to experience this ryokan ! The room had a private Onsen which was already full and ready for us to use when we arrived.
Everything was clean and comfortable
The food and breakfast also very delicious
So lucky we got to stay here during our trip and we experienced Narai Juku before all tourists came to sight see . Certainly a highlight"

"Beautiful vista, food was great (strongly recommend doing a dinner reservation AND a breakfast reservation) owner was extremely kind and generous. He spoke better English than I spoke Japanese, which made it extremely easy to meet in the middle. 10/10 experience."

I stayed two nights here to see magome and tsumago. The hotel was the best hotel of my trip in Japan offering traditional japanese breakfast and dinner as well as a wonderful onsen. The staff was incredible and kind helping me even though I cannot speak Japanese. I cannot recommend this Hotel enough if you are planning on visiting this part of the Nakasendo Trail.

The spa was highly special, unique, and magical. Our room was spectacular and the staff could not have been more kind and helpful. We feel very lucky to have found this place. The food is not just dinner and breakfast, but a culinary experience. Everything tasted amazing, we tried so many new things. Highly highly recommend.

I recently stayed at Komagane Kogen Resort Linx, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making check-in quick and seamless.
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed. The view from the window was stunning, adding to the relaxing atmosphere.

Great place. As billed. Food was meh. Onsen was fantastic. If you’re a guy, you get access to a big barrel sauna. If you’re a gal, you’re out of luck—their culture, their rules. Nice place though. Great rooms, any amenities you can imagine available for use—robes, slippers, air purifiers, humidifiers, even little bitty crocs for kids. Good location, short stroll to Kozenji Temple. Overall I’d recommend it.

Everything was very clean and the staff were helpful in checking me in. I let them know in advance I would be late and they guided me. It was also useful to have a convenience store nearby.

The staff is very friendly. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap. There is a small refrigerator available; make sure to turn on the dedicated switch to power up the refrigerator. A yutaka is available for use. The hotel has a nice bathhouse! There are washing machines & dryers available on site.
The breakfast is amazing- a large selection to choose from. The hotel has a restaurant. The closest restaurant outside the hotel is a Yoshinoya.

The best area to stay in Akaho is around Komagane Station, which serves as the primary gateway to the Central Alps.
This area is the most convenient for travelers, offering direct access to the Komagatake Ropeway bus terminal, which is essential for exploring the scenic Senjojiki Cirque. You'll find a selection of hotels and local eateries within walking distance of the station, making it easy to plan your daily excursions. It's a practical base for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
For those looking for a more secluded and tranquil experience, especially couples, staying at a ryokan or guesthouse located in the foothills closer to the Komagatake Ropeway Base Station offers a unique appeal.
When is the best time to go to Akaho?
The best time to visit Akaho is during the autumn months, specifically from mid-October to early November, when the koyo (autumn leaves) are at their peak.
During this period, the entire region transforms with brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, making it an ideal time for sightseeing and photography. The weather is generally crisp and clear, superb for exploring the natural beauty of the area, including the local temples and shrines located within the colorful foliage.
Couples looking for a romantic and picturesque getaway will particularly enjoy the autumn season. Many local ryokans (traditional inns) offer special seasonal meals featuring local ingredients, providing a truly immersive cultural experience amidst the stunning natural backdrop.
For travelers interested in winter sports, the period from late December to March offers excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions at nearby resorts.
