6010 Canal Street, originally constructed in the 1880, is located in the heart of downtown Peninsula, and is very private, comfortable and quiet. It retains its historic charm while providing modern conveniences to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The house is filled with sunlight during the day, and the original hardwood floors, painted woodwork, exposed brick and lighting create a warm and cozy retreat at night. The large kitchen and the dining room provide great spaces for cooking & dining, playing board games or simply spending quality time together. The living area and front porch overlook the Cuyahoga River and Towpath Trail providing a great place to relax while enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an evening a glass of wine. 6010 Canal Street is situated in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and a perfect base for your getaway. It has direct access to the Towpath Trail, Buckeye Trail and Cuyahoga River. It is a 1-minute walk to the shops of Peninsula; 2-minute walk to the Winking Lizard restaurant (a great food and selection of beers and whiskeys); Fishers Cafe & Pub; Century Cycles bike rental; and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad station, Catholic, Methodist and historic non-denominational churches, and 4-minutes to the Lock 29 trail head, G.A.R. Hall (Civil War museum and concert hall), Peninsula Art Academy or Peninsula Public Library (for books and dvds).Within a 10-mile radius, you have access to over 125 miles of hiking trails, the Towpath Trail, two downhill ski areas, numerous sledding and cross country skiing areas, mountain bike trails, bike paths, kayaking & fishing, the CVSR historic railroad, CVNP visitor center, historic Hale Farm & Village, Blossom Outdoor Music Center, Porthouse and Weathervane Theaters, numerous waterfalls, a historic covered bridge, farmers' markets, wineries, micro-breweries, great casual and fine dining restaurants, public golf courses, trampoline park, and many more attractions. Akron (15 miles) and Cleveland (25 miles) are within easy access from both scenic and highway routes giving you easy access to the area’s sporting venues, museums, cultural and arts districts, zoos, Summit and Cuyahoga Counties Metro Park systems, many excellent dining opportunities and shopping districts, and so much more! Perfect for Bikers
This was the perfect property for a sisters’ biking get away. The house has everything you’d need, comfortable beds, great kitchen and a lovely front porch to relax on during your down time.

Great location and cozy house
We really enjoyed our stay at Paul's home. It is in an ideal location for exploring Cuyahoga National Park with easy access to the beautiful tow path and the cute little town of Peninsula. The house was well appointed with plenty of linens and towels and kitchen tools. It is an older house with lots of character, but very comfortable with nice outdoor space too. Paul was very easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Highly recommended!

Amazing local getaway to get away from it all
We are local to the region, and this gave us a chance to get away from our everyday while still being close enough to pop home if need be. While close to trails and restaurants, felt very secluded because of well placed foliage. Shower and claw foot bathtub were real stand outs. We loved the flow of the house, and really were able to relax. Only downside is the bed and furniture are firm, so lounging required lots of strategic pillow placing, but will definitely visit again.

My friends and I enjoyed staying in Peninsula within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
This property was a perfect location for us to explore the park. We spent the first day to the north and then headed to the southern portions of the park as we made our way back to Cincinnati.

Wonderful getaway
This was a fantastic, central location for visiting the park! Large, well supplied kitchen! Just an absolute lovely home. Paul is a wonderful, responsive host. Highly recommend this VRBO!!
