The evenings can be cool, so a light jacket or sweater is advisable. This season is superb for couples or solo travelers who want to comfortably experience the West MacDonnell Ranges, enjoy walks in the Alice Springs Desert Park, or take scenic drives without the intense heat of summer. The months of October to March bring much hotter temperatures, often exceeding 35°C (95°F), with a higher chance of rain. While the summer can bring dramatic desert thunderstorms and lush greenery, the heat can make extended outdoor exploration less comfortable.
