Everything was perfect. Property is beautiful and staffs are kind. I enjoyed fitness and sauna too. The only drawback is checkout time at 11am is a bit too early. Hope it is 12pm.

The hotel staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Our room had a beautiful canal view. Walking distance to restaurants, museums. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Hotel Estherea is a beautiful place, with a fabulous location, great staff, clean, breakfast is great and the cookies, flavored waters and coffee machine are over the top. There are fresh flowers, gorgeous chandeliers and very comfortable sitting areas. It was a real treat and I would go back in a minute.

taking a cab from Centraal station, the cab driver could not find the hotel, when it was really in front of his nose. Once I got there, the experience was great. I was concerned about the distance from the center of the city, but there's a tram that stops right in front of the hotel that takes you right to the center of things. It's also a pleasant if lengthy walk. The neighborhood has a number of interesting restaurants and bars and there's a great supermarket a block away. The room has a...

I will only stay at this hotel in Amsterdam. The location is ideal - quieter street but walkable to everything. The amenities are everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The staff is out of this world - energetic, professional and helpful.

The property is unique. The commons areas are welcoming and convenient. We stayed here to be close to the art museums, and if you can dodge the bikers and trams for a five-eight minute walk, you will love the experience. The cocktail spread was all we needed for that evening meal, though we did find nearby restaurants that were fun. Breakfast at the hotel was delightful. Most wonderful was the kindness of the lovely women running the hotel. We felt welcomed in Amsterdam thanks to them.

I have stayed in several different hotels in Amsterdam. This is the best hotel for the average person -- noting I am sure there are some nicer hotels that would cost $400 a night. This hotel is perfectly located between the Museum Quarter, the old section, next to Rembrandt Square, very close to the mile long walking mall, near other great shopping streets. Walking distance to the Jordaan district which is my favorite area. The hotel provides first rate breakfasts that spare no expense. ...

Exceptionally nice property. Great staff, nice rooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast buffet was pricey, but it did deliver on quality and variety. And of course a fantastic location and the place is quiet, which we liked.

All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board. Room was quiet for outside noise, but some mechanical noises but not awful. Room service was good and Janz was excellent for breakfast and dinner. Area around hotel was great boutique shopping. We had an amazing experience at the hotel. Absolutely gorgeous and the staff was all very very helpful and friendly. The absolute only thing I didn't love was the room being in a different building from the main hotel.
The lounge was breathtaking and all the bartenders were excellent and very sociable.

Really the perfect hotel for the museum tour, in easy walking distance to all of them. The canal is lovely and quiet, tons of busy restaurants in a 4-5 block radius, lively night-life, friendly, busy, fun. Lobby recently renovated and very enjoyable with a view of the canal -- the breakfast service is superlative. What's not to love? If you stay, book a panoramic room, you won't be disappointed.

The hotel is walkable to a number of the places we were visiting. I liked that it wasn’t in the city center but only 10 minutes from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable.

Very pleased with our comfort room stay for 4 nights. Was quiet (despite the coinciding Amsterdam Dance Exhibition drawing half a million to the City, bed mattress very comfortable (pillows too thick), great shower and hot water availability (hate the little aluminum tubes with soap shampoo, etc - hard to fully extract, lids fall on the floor), great location for access to city center. Thank you for a very good visit!

Top notch in all areas of a stay in Amsterdam. Had a corner room with glass on both walls. Just a great feel and elegance to stay. Would have given 6 stars if an option. Can walk to Musueum district. Loads of bike paths. Breakfast buffet quality is a whole new level. Like being between airport and city center.

Staying in a stay with a private pool in Alkmaar?
Booking a stay with a private pool in Alkmaar offers a far more personal and elevated experience than a standard stay pool. Instead of sharing spaces or sticking to pool opening hours, you can enjoy complete privacy, quieter surroundings, and the freedom to swim, relax, and unwind whenever you like, adding a sense of exclusivity to the trip. Whether that means morning swims with a view, peaceful afternoons in your own space, or romantic evenings away from busy resort areas, a private pool stay turns the stay itself into a memorable part of the vacation.
Where to stay in Alkmaar for private pool stays
The best areas to stay in Alkmaar for stays with private pools often depend on the type of trip you’re planning. Beachfront resort zones are ideal for travelers looking for luxury amenities, sea views, and easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and water activities, while quieter districts offer a more peaceful area with added privacy and scenic surroundings. In many destinations, private pool villas and suites can also be found in city-edge resorts, countryside escapes, and adults-only retreats. Choosing the right area for a private pool stay allows travelers to combine comfort, location, and experience.
Top amenities in Alkmaar private pool stays
Many stays in Alkmaar with private pools offer far more than just exclusive swimming access, combining luxury properties with premium resort amenities designed for a more comfortable and relaxing stay. Depending on the property, guests can enjoy spa and wellness facilities, ocean-view suites, beachfront locations, all-inclusive dining options, private villas, rooftop terraces, fitness centers, kids’ clubs and personalized services such as in-room dining. From adults-only resorts to family-friendly luxury stays, these amenities help turn a standard holiday into a more private and experience-driven getaway.
Best stay types in Alkmaar with private pools
The best accommodation types for Alkmaar stays with private pools vary depending on the travel style and experience you’re looking for.
Villas with private pools are especially popular with couples and families thanks to their extra space, privacy, and luxury feel, often including outdoor lounges, multiple bedrooms, and secluded settings.
Beach resorts with private pool suites are ideal for travelers who want full resort amenities and are looking for that 5-star experience with facilities including spas, restaurants and all-inclusive options while still enjoying their own pool area.
Condos and apartment-style stays are a popular choice for families and longer holidays, offering more flexibility, kitchen facilities, and a balance between comfort and value.
Best time to book a private pool stay in Alkmaar
The best time to stay in an accommodation in Alkmaar with a private pool usually depends on the weather, travel season, and the type of experience you want. Peak travel months are often ideal for warm temperatures, sunny days, and making the most of outdoor spaces, while shoulder seasons can offer fewer tourists and sometimes better stay rates. Families may prefer school holiday seasons when resorts offer more activities and family-friendly amenities, while couples could take advantage of quieter periods for a peaceful stay.
Tips to save on Alkmaar private pool stays
Book early for the best private pool availability. Booking a stay in Alkmaar with a private pool well in advance helps you secure the best room types and rates, especially during peak travel seasons when demand is highest and availability is limited.
Travel during shoulder seasons for better value. Choosing shoulder season dates can offer more competitive pricing, fewer crowds, and better opportunities to enjoy private pool upgrades, all while still experiencing great weather and full access to local attractions.
Bundle flights and stays for extra savings. Package deals that combine flights and stays can often reduce overall trip costs while simplifying planning. This can be a practical way to get better value for a luxury stay in Alkmaar.
Choose stays with included amenities to reduce extras. Look for all-inclusive resorts or properties that include amenities such as breakfast, airport transfers, or spa access. These inclusions can help reduce additional travel expenses and make budgeting your stay more straightforward.
