“The property was easy to access and in a great location in Inverness. The host was accomodating and accessible...at first. When we arrived at the property, we found the hot tub liner was ripped which made using it a challenge...also we found several of the showers would not get cold and the heads on a couple showers would spray everywhere. Also, the heater behind the washer/dryer turned off and started blinking an error code. In the 5 days we had booked, we tried to contact the host four……

“The property was easy to find, communication was good, and the location worked well for our needs, with a quick drive into Inverness. Street parking was also easy and convenient. Unfortunately, the apartment itself was quite tired and not particularly comfortable. There was an odd, musty odor on the first floor, and the stairs were steeper than expected. The shower had only fair to low water pressure. The biggest issue was the beds. Each bedroom had two very narrow beds that felt smaller than……

“Absolutely amazing place to stay. The views were gorgeous and the whole place was so cute! The showers were a little hard to figure out but other than that I would highly recommend this stay! I will definitely be back.”

“The house was perfect for the 3 of us. It was clean and the instructions were very clear about locks, wi-fi etc. The free wi-fi was great. I look forward to coming back to Inverness. Thank you for a great experience.”

“Many thoughtful amenities. Sleeps an intimate two, not three as promised on both Expedia and another booking site. Host ignored Expedia message request for use of (non-existent) sofa bed and instead sent a direct email with door code. Daughter and I enjoyed this last minute booking but felt a bit bait and switched. Exceptionally clean, well appointed suburban backyard unit.”

“The flat was not properly cleaned, specially in the kitchen and living room. To make matters even worst, we found bedbugs in one of the bedrooms. A bad experience indeed!”

“Dated requiring refurbishment also when we opened bedroom there was loads of birds droppings on the corner of the window cill because there was a house Martin or swallow had been nesting therefor had to close window and get no fresh air. We stayed one night and left prematurely. No breakfast It’s like being a latch key school child Wouldn’t recommend”

“Convenient location with beautiful view of the river. Good facilities but only staircase to third floor. Ensuite needs deep cleaning of mouldy patches”

“We had a lovely short stay at Macbeth’s Hillock. The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed. We mainly stayed there overnight while travelling, but I also cooked dinner there, which worked very well. The location is peaceful, close to local sights, and right next to a farm with beautiful sheep, which made the stay feel even more charming. A very pleasant place for our short stay.”

“Our hosts very graciously stayed on the phone with us guiding us turn by turn to the house. Nice, comfortable, clean. Great shower”
