Amatitán Vacations from $199

Very spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Could use some updates. Room included a kitchen with sink, stove, microwave and refrigerator. Dishes and utensils were also included. Property has beautiful vegetation, some being exotic. Manager was quite congenial.

The first night was horrible, one room had many bed bugs. We didn’t use one of the rooms as we didn’t want to deal with the bugs. For the Second room the girls took the bed boards off as they found spiders. I did request to get moved to another room. Reception was understandable and got us moved the same night. We did get moved to another bigger cabin. Which was much cleaner. Other than the first night we ran out of water. The last two nights we had issues sleeping due to a sound of a pipe. Which kept going off and on every 5 minutes or less. The kitchen staff was incredible.

The hotel is old and needs work but we really liked the colonial style buildings and the size of the complex. Breakfast was decent for what we paid and I enjoyed sitting on our terrace which felt quite private.

Bed and pillow were comfortable. The view to the lake was amazing. The room was clean. Walking distance to ajijic main town about 15-20 minutes.
