Very approachable owners, together with a friendly dog. Pure chance that we managed to catch the owner early afternoon, because the official check-in was from 5 pm, but we had no knowledge of this because Hotels.com had not included it on their website! Very clean & clutter-free & definitely recommended :-)”

“Due to the wildfire in Bordeaux, we changed our hotel to O’Nice and stayed for 2 nights, the location is perfect for sightseeing around the region, took us 35 mins driving to Cognac, and 40 mins to Royan. Our room was not big, but a/c was quite good in such hot weather. Parking space is generous and very secure, and the restaurant next to the hotel is always busy, we’ll give it a try next time.”

“Je ne passais qu’une seule nuit à Saintes seule pour visiter un ami à l’hôpital. L’accueil de Claudine fut très chaleureux et tonique. Elle me reçue dans sa maison de ville où elle loue 2 chambres. La mienne était spacieuse, salle de douche récemment rénovée, wc séparé. Propreté impeccable. Au plein coeur de la ville, pas un bruit. Elle m’a conseillé un restaurant juste à côté tout à fait bien et le lendemain matin l’ai pu, ainsi que l’autre locataire, prendre le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse……

“On our arrival after six hours travelling in a heatwave we were informed that the air conditioning wasn't working. From the sign on the door it was obviously not a recent problem. We feel we should have been told prior to our arrival when we would have had chance to book alternative accommodation. As it was we had no choice but to accept. The fan in one of the rooms was broken and could not be angled. We were told there were no spares, neither was there anywhere to get cold water. My grandson……

“While I was grateful that the room was air conditioned, the shower was very poor. I imagine that it will be similar to those on submarines. In order to operate the shower you were required to push the control button, which the allowed the water to flow for a very limited amount of time, you could just about manage to get wet. Then you could apply shampoo, soap and or body wash. You then were required to keep pushing the button to obtain water to rinse yourself down. Not a great experience.”
