9/10 Wonderful! (298 reviews)
Overall a clean hotel in a nice location. Some homeless people hanging around near the property, in particular loitering around the parkade entrances.
The rooms were generally nice. However, the first room we were assigned had a strong sewage smell. We immediately asked for another room and they were able to accommodate the change.
The major wildfires were going on at this time and there was the possibility of parts of Bordeaux being evacuated. As a result, according to a staff member, many guests canceled their stay at this hotel. We had booked 3 nights and asked the staff if we could cancel and obtain a refund for the last night due to the wildfire risk and our drive to San Sebastian airport to catch our flight being at risk due to road closures. The staff refused our request. We tried through the Expedia staff, who were great btw, but they were also refused by the hotel as they said they were complying with their policy, even though we would have checked out before noon check out time on the 2nd day.
We were disappointed that they were very black and white about adhering to their policies even though we felt we had a very legitimate reason due to the escalating wildfire situation and our risk of not being able to make our flight on our last day.
I have written multiple reviews through Expedia and this is the only more negative one that I have written. I do want to stress I am very happy with Expedia’s service but this hotel did not meet expectations.
