We had a very enjoyable couple of nights at the Ariquepay Hotel. Great location a couple of minutes' walk from the Plaza de Armas. Check-in was quick and efficient and the room was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The sink is outside the bathroom by the wardrobe which was unusual but not an issue for a couple of nights.
Breakfast was relatively simple compared to some other hotels we've stayed at, but it was nice to be able to eat outside on the roof terrace to enjoy the morning sunshine. The same location is the bar in the evening, and is a good place to watch the sun set.
Unfortunately there is a public car park behind the hotel and we were disturbed by car alarms going off - this did carry on into the evening but fortunately stopped eventually. Admittedly we didn't call down to reception to mention it (not sure what they would have been able to do about it) but it's worth bearing this in mind... cities in Peru are not quiet places, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
