Well located backpacker accomodation with a great outlook on a local park. The rooms were clean and spacious and the shared facilities were in good order. For a budget friendly option this is a great choice.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at so far in NZ! It’s super quiet but sociable, the staff are great. Shower rooms are very clean and plentiful. Can’t wait to stay when I’m in Auckland next!

I loved how close we were to everything and that we were able to leave the car there and walk everywhere. Transport options around the property were amazing. The place was extremely clean and all facilities were fantastic. Would definitely love to come back again.

Verandahs is a lovely old villa with an almost ‘posh’ backpackers vibe. Its a couple of minutes walk to Ponsonby Road and about 10-15 minutes to K Road. We stayed in a queen room with ensuite which was spacious and clean, with nice linen on the bed. Check in was a breeze and the service was friendly and warm. Definately recommend and would stay here again :)

Staff was genuinely friendly. All areas very clean. Bathrooms seem to be newly renovated and spotless. Spacious kitchen area with all availed needs. Comfortable lounging rooms. A lot of charm with old windows, doors, high ceilings.

Had such a lovely stay at this hostel. It is very clean and comfortable. Very nicely designed, beautiful outdoor lounge area, nice big clean kitchen dining and lounge areas. Nice balconies with views of the city , has big garden area and is right next to a park, so feels very green and in nature. Easy 10 minute taxi from CBD, good food options in local area. Perfect place to stay for a relaxed experience in Auckland. Very friendly owner and staff

Stayed here for a night whilst passing through Auckland. The facilities were great, but bed was a little uncomfortable. The doors were always locked from the outside, but no lockers in the rooms. Also only had 1 main light in the room, which was a bit annoying. But overall good value for money for the night.

Extremely lovely building, very homely

Lovely house with garden, balconies, library, living room and a very well equipped kitchen. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I stayed 3 times in different rooms, the ensuite rooms are definitely worth the extra money, simply because you are normally away from the single rooms there's loads of doors slamming shut with everyone nipping to the toilet throughout the night. Great location as very close to centre without the noise and big supermarket just 5 mins walk away
