Bahamia Beach Tours

Island Seas Resort has some positives, but unfortunately the negatives outweighed them for us. The best part is the location. It’s directly on a beautiful beach, and the grounds are very nice and well maintained. We also had a great massage. The wellness area is pretty bare-bones, but the masseuse was excellent. The food at SeaGrape Restaurant was also very good. Unfortunately, the rooms are extremely dated and desperately need renovation. Our room smelled moldy/mildewy, we had repeated issues with the room key, and we found a large palmetto bug/roach inside. We live in Florida and know these bugs exist, but I’ve never stayed in a hotel where I actually found one in my room. Our smoke detector also had a low battery and chirped repeatedly all night. When we called for help, we were told no one could address it until the next day, leaving us to deal with it ourselves. Service was extremely slow, and several areas, including the bar, were unattended. We understand it was the slow season, but paying guests should still receive the amenities and services advertised. The Wi-Fi is also terrible, so bring a hotspot if you need reliable internet. This resort has a beautiful location and a lot of potential, but it feels like a property that may have been great 20 years ago and hasn’t kept up. I would rather pay more to stay elsewhere and would not return.

Disappointing Stay — Accessibility & Hospitality Fell Short I booked an accessible room online and reminded Trudi at check-in. I was using my cane and asked if the room was far from the lobby. I was told no. Room 1121 was actually three room blocks from the lobby, not including the pathway past the stores. By the time I reached it, I was exhausted. What was supposed to be accessible felt more like an obstacle course. The shower had sand in it, and I never went to the beach, and the room itself desperately needs a FULL renovation, not another patch job. The lobby reflects the Wyndham image; unfortunately, my room did not. On my final night, I shared my concerns with Daniel. His response was simply, “Sorry for that.” That did little to make the situation right. The bellmen were the only staff who consistently made me feel welcome. I expected Wyndham hospitality. Instead, the name was at the door, but the standard seemed to stop there.
