We loved our stay in this Masseria. The staff, the room and the premises were outstanding and I must emphasize their breakfast table,which was included in my price, it was amazing and delicious, the staff went all out of their way to please us and make us feel wonderful during our stay!! Beatrice gave us great recommendations for Matera and was very attentive and eager to make us feel welcome.

I stayed on short notice at Casale di Maria and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The room was very charming and unique - in one of the historic sassi (cave hewn into the rocks) but with all the modern amenities you could wish for.
I had parked a long way away but Walter, the owner, gave me a ride to my car and guided me to a parking spot near the house where I could park without getting a ticket till the next morning. Domenica, who manages the property day-to-day, stayed in online...

Our room was done very beautifully and artistically and overlooked the Sassi Barisano for a great view. The bathroom is American sized and the room contained a large closet and cute balcony. It sits on a main piazza just a couple minutes to any of the major sites. Mimmo was an excellent host and even if we said the room didn’t need to be cleaned since we were staying only two nights, he had it cleaned anyway. We enjoyed our stay!

Great location if u are w a car; staff was very attentive, room was lovely and very functional and breakfast was great w variety and fresh items.
Antonella checked me in and since the gym was not open, she let me borrow 2 weights so I could work out in my room; both male bartenders in the evening (my apologies, I did not get their names) were so accommodating and Laura at breakfast on Sunday was so lovely and attentive. GREAT hotel when u visit Matera.

Nice, small B&B right outside the bustle of old town Matera on a more residential area. The rooms were clean and roomy (by European standards) and the continental breakfast was always ready for us in the morning. It was about a 5 minute walk to old town and sightseeing, where there were an abundance of restaurants to choose from.
Our host was very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay.

Plus, there are some steps to navigate both downhill and uphill. Knowing this from other reviews, we contacted the hotel before our arrival. Beautiful views from the windows to die for, location, etc. Hotel is in excellent condition, furniture, room design, etc. Breakfast is very good. Great options for fine food in the area. You need to be prepare to walk a lot in the city of Matera with steps up and down including to and from hotel. If you can not walk - it is not for you. Parking (free or paid) is on the street within 10-15 min or so walking. Finding can be a problem....
