"Visited Grand Mercure in 2026, after the refurbishing. The landscaping works at the entrance is still being upgraded, and the entire hotel looks brand new. The team of staff were all efficient and warm, from the reception, concierge, to the Ambrosia Restaurant. They have a convenient shuttle to the mall, with a brand new van. The kueh lapis and grilled sausages at the breakfast buffet were delicious, and the chefs did the grilling on the spot. Will be keen to try the Sup Buntut next time around. Will definitely recommend travellers to visit this hotel, excellent experience in Batam. "

"Front office staffs were polite, helpful and friendly. Room was made available to us 1 hr before check in time. Room was clean and with standard amenities. Location just 5 mi s walk from Batam Center Ferry Terminal. Opposite hotel is a shopping mall that have a variety of food options, hypermarket, Starbucks, bakery etc."

"We wanted to pop over the national park but was told that we needed to especially book for this and they don't accept walk-ins. We didn't manage to try the spa as it was full when we were free."

"A very clean and comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. However, the noise from the main road in front of the hotel intrudes into the rooms facing it. Especially the noisy motorcycles. Would definitely stay there again but I will ask for a room facing away from the road."

"Wifi was not stable and signal kept dropping. Frustrating and took time to reply to my emails. Room was quite dated and please do not believe the pictures on the website. The toilet tiles were stained and heavy black build up between the grouting. I choose a non smoking room, but clearly there were other rooms smoking on the same floor. Better hotel rooms in the city at that price point. "
